so i asked this guy that i met a little while ago if he wanted to go to the sadie hawkins dance with me at my school. this was his response:

that would be fun! im still not sure if im going tho. so if you find another guy thats definitely going then i would understand if you asked him over me! im flattered tho!

am i naive or is this really confusing? the dance is not for another 2 weeks. so should i wait a week and see what his response is the monday before the dance?

what do you think he meant with his answer?

Not really interested in going but will accompany you if you don't have a date. Sorry.

From a dude's perspective, I think he wants to go, but lacks the self-esteem. Meaning he thinks you might change your mind. So he's giving himself an escape route.

what he meant was that he is shy and doesn't think he is worthy, of your attention, so the next time you see him tell him that you asked him because you wanted to go with him and not some other guy, he probably will accept

Yeah, he doesn't really want to go. Sorry
You should ask someone else, someone who will be TRULY HAPPY to go with you. You deserve to go with a guy that actually cares.

i think he was trying to be nice and not hurt your feelings but it sounds like he doesn't want to go. either he likes you and doesn't want to go and is being stupid. or he doesn't like you as more than a friend and didn't want to hurt your feelings. guys are stupid. don't wait around for him. it'll make you seem desperate.

he is not into you..that is what i think. A guy who is interested with you definitely gives out his response with yes not with any other alibis or excuses.
