The scientist approaches God, and says, "Look, God, we don't need you anymore, OK? I mean, we can clone now, we have made astounding advancements in medicine, and we have the technology and scientific knowledge to produce what used to be miracles. We just don't need you. Sorry".

God listens patiently and says, "OK, fine, but I care about you and don't want you to make a mistake, so just to be sure, let's have a man-making contest, to see if you really need me".

The Scientist agrees. God says, "OK, we'll do this just the way I did it in the old days, with Adam and Eve". "No problem", says the scientist, and he reaches down to scoop up a handful of dirt.

"Whoa! Hold on there a minute", God says. "You get your own dirt".

Whenever scientists find a solution for the real and most basic problems in life namely disease, old age and death, then I'll have a little respect for them.

Man can't live forever, man eventually dies. We need God for he is the keeper of our souls. Some scientist don't believe in a soul. The soul is the inner working of a man, what animates all of us. It leaves the body and then the body becomes inanimate but the soul is still alive, it has just left that body. We need God because he made us. We are on a ball floating in space and we didn't create the ball or create the space. Wake up everybody.

I'm a "wannabe" scientist. I don't think this way, and most scientists don't. Your argument pretty much falls to pieces after that. I define "God" as the natural universe. I don't see how I can do without that because I live in it, and even if it was created by entirely natural means, its still a miracle - let's see anyone of us create an entire universe!

Of course, we still need God. I am not relying on science to help me out when times are bad. I cannot pray to science when I need help thinkig something through or someone asks for special prayers. There would be nothing left to believe in and at least for me, that would be the end of the world.

Do you really believe Thomas Edison created a light without got help (also intuition, curiousity, etc) from God?
Do you really believe you can do everything without help from God?
Yes we need God. More than we know. We don't see God but it doesn't mean God never help scientist to find new technology. We don't hear God, but it doesn't mean he never tell our heart to find the truth. There are many ways God help us even though we don't know it or we don't realize it.
Yes we need him.

We need God's forgivenness. Can scientists save people from hell? or themselves in that matter? No, only God can.

haha! I think we need God more than ever. To me scientists are cute little lemmings who blow themselves up in labs and come running out with the next big thing. the next big thing with lethal consequences. Science is fun when it comes to small scale objectives, but when they start tinkering with the big stuff, lookout!

The more we learn about how the Universe works, thanks to Science, the more amazing God seems to be! Black Holes, Quarks, and Wormholes... God is beautiful!
