No, it only strengthens your tummy. Think about this, even if you had six packs, they still wouldn't show if you had "luggage" around there. You will need aerobic exercise( running, walking, swimming) in order to achieve that.

It makes the muscles underneath the flab firmer while burning it minimally but cardio is where the fat really burns off. The thing is, you can't concentrate weight loss. I would stick with the crunches or other abdominal workouts and do some cardio or aerobics as well. While doing something is better than nothing, changing up the msucles you work in a region or the way you work them is key. If you do the ame exercise continually, your body and that muscle get used to you and it doesn't strain as much as it did. It builds up a tolerance, so change up your routines regularly, I will do a certain routine for one month and then completely change it up and do another.

no, it only makes your core stronger. if you want to lose the fat in your stomach, you will need to do cardio... a lot of cardio. and that's on top of doing many many ab workouts. your stomach fat is covering your rectus abdominus and your obliques.

you will need to do both aerobic activies and ab workouts. try taking some pilates classes to understand your body more. that helps your core in so many levels. aerobics and toning are the best way. try to do at least 45 minutes of aerobics 3-5 times a day. and after, do abs and weight/strength training. aerobics burn the fat, weight training makes it toned and not flappy. good luck.

i think you should run if you have the chance to because lotsa studies show that doing crunches dont do much unless you do them for like 5-10 minutes straight without stopping every other day because they are like any other muscle in your body and need for you to work on the continuously. so running and other aerobic exercises would help you a lot.

I know that doing ab exercise will build up you ab muscles and that will help you burn fat more quickly in that area, you will look better and feel the results very quickly if you get in the routine. It takes a little time and an overall reduction in calories to lose the fat however. Good work!

You know that burn you feel when you do a bunch of situps?

That burn is chemicals in your muscles being created, thus working out and creating and strengthing your current muscle.

This muscle in turns burns surrounding fat.

Therefore, reduced flab on the tum tum.

Spot reducing doesn't work. Sit-ups will strengthen your abs, but won't eliminate body fat in that particular area. I recommend doing both.

well it depends on how much you do. I do 100 a day and my stomach has definetly gotten smaller and a bit flatter. i think i might even have a 2-pack visible, and i did a couple months ago.
