is the word "Church" used to refer to the believers and followers of Jesus Christ for the first time?

The Lord Jesus mentioned the word "church" only twice and both are in the gospel of Matthew, the first is in 16:18 where He says He will build His (one universal) church and the second is in 18:17 where He says to tell it to the (local) church, which refers to the believers in a locality to whom you can tell and listen to.

It all depends on who's doing the translating.

My Bible has the word "church" being used 17 times in the old testament, and another 78 times in the new.

That's what I'm saying, millions go to church but yet are the biggest sinners of them all.I think that 80% of the people who go to church are hypocrites,.

It never was. The concept was invented years after His death and Resurrection.
