Countries driving on the left include Polynesia, Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, & Japan.
Its a very simple transition to make for most people, driving in a diiferent country. Just keep the centre line beside the drivers door, if you cant see it you are in the wrong lane! Works for LHD or RHD countries.
The biggest danger visiting these countries if you are from the US or similar, is being a pedestrian - you tend to look the wrong way before crossing roads.

All the ex-British colony countries i.e. Australia, India, Fiji, etc. drive on the left side of the road (of course in the UK we drive on the left as well). For cars that are made for specific countries, the steering wheel position is always on the inside of the road.
Therefore, US cars are left hand drive and UK cars are right hand drive.
The position of the steering wheel is thus that the driver has optimum view of the road and stems historically from horse drawn carriages needing a protector on the kerb side of the road in case of attack.

More countries drive on the right than the left, though you'd be surprised how many countries do drive on the left -- some 75 countries still drive on the left.
In countries where they drive on the left, the steering wheel is on the right side.

The principal left-siders are Japan and the United Kingdom; so far as I know, everybody else drives on the right. Most (but not all) cars driven in those countries have the controls on the right. Sweden used to drive on the left, but converted to right driving something like 40 years ago.
