Is that 'good enough?'
I haven't been to church in a long time because I've felt out of place at a few of the churches I've been to.
There are a lot of people who are 'false saints' and I don't want to be around them.. I know I should check out a few local churches around here but if I read the Bible and I pray is that enough?

Well you need Christian fellowship (you know the saying "iron sharpens iron"). It is a vital ingredient to maturing in Christ. As for "false saints" - well, my dear, I'm afraid you'll find stumbling blocks in every church you go to... part of the maturing process is learning how to deal with this phenomena... and you know, we can't see into a person's heart... those "false saints" may just be very immature Christians.

Don't be stressed about it though... pray for guidance and for God to lead you to the church for you or where He needs you to be... could be there is a child of God there who needs your freindship, ah?

I have had to absent myself from church for two months now for health reasons... but I do know that I need to get back into fellowship sometime soon... God is good... don't stress - He knows where you're at spiritually. The fact that you are asking seems to indicate to me that you are already thinking that you should go find a church.

The question of is it enough is very difficult to answer from a human perspective.

We know that there are many in very remote villages and such that have no body of believers (church) to attend. They are the church and do not have others around to fellowship and worship with.

Our humanness craves interaction with others, and if all of our interaction is with non believers, it is so easy for us to fall down to them, rather than be lifted up to God.

For me, we have found a small, doctrinal church that believes all about the bible, and does not stress one aspect of it above the others. Fellowship with one another is as important as worshipping God.

I did not grow up in this small town, I have only been here for a little over a year, so this body of people welcomed my family and made us feel a part of them right from the start.

The only thing that makes this body of believers different than many others is that they practice what they are taught. God is in charge of this little church and it shows in all of us that enter in.

The pastors and deacons know and understand that even though we call them leaders, they are Gods servents and are there to do Gods will. It is awesome and I truely pray that you will find the church that God is telling you that you need.

Now a bit about false saints. Not all of them know that they are false. IT is sad , but so true. Just as in the outside world, we do not quit our jobs or quit school over hypocrits, we also cannot judge a church based on if it has hypocrits or how many it may have.
If they are in leadership roles and are not allowing God to be the boss, then the entire church will reflect that. But if theyare just there amongst God believing and living christians, we must show them by our own words and actions and hope that they figure it out at some point.

So, is it enough for you? Sounds like God is telling you that it isnt enough and that he wants you to surround yourself with other believers and to learn from them, and for them to learn from you. Heed his call, he wont quit until you do. I know this from experience.

Jesus went to church. He is our example. It is good to be surrounded by our brothers and sisters in Christ. It does not save you, but it is a healthy part of a relationship with God. Find a good Christ centered church with a big outreach program and get involved. There is no better way to make yourself feel worthwhile. Teach a Bible class or something. Don't just go to warm a pew though.

In case you are a little confused about jumbyhead's Bible quote. I think he meant the 4th commandment and it says the seventh day is the Lord's day ever since creation actually. Check it out. There are quite a few sabbath keeping denominations. Seventh day adventists, Church of God, seventh day baptists, and messianic jews are some that come to mind.

One can be Spiritual minus attending church. It helps strengthen us in our faith, I believe, to go to church & be around like kind. I do savvy that one wants to be where one feels comfortable or "at home". I wouldn't suggest going just to go. Find a home church where you feel good about being. One can share Spirituality with friends & family. If one lives Spiritually, it shows. LIVE GOD! I hadn't been an attendee of any church for years before I found a Unity church in Salem, except to be a Chreaster(Christmas & Easter). When I had been in my church for four minutes, I knew that I was home, & I have now been there for over ten years. You will find a church meant for you; God has a plan for you.

If you can say you really know God, then ask God, and if God sees that you could help some people in the church live a life that is pleasing to God then why not, there are people who really want the truth. Second you really are to keep the Sabbath day holy which is Saturday not sunday, man (catholics) changed the day from Saturday to Sunday. so you are not obligated to go to church on Sundays, is just a conditioned sense of guilt,

All other issues aside, it's virtually impossible for a lone individual to reach their true potential as a Christian when they're separated from the larger faith community.

Without being actively involved in the work, worship, and sacraments of the church, you're missing out on more than you could possibly imagine.

Get to church ASAP, and keep going, even if it feels strange.

If you have found him, surely you want to share him. I have been a believer both in and out of church and I find it more fulfilling in a church. A church gives me the opportunity to share and put into practice my beliefs. If you think churches are full of hypocrits you should count how many are at the neighborhood bar.

If you read the bible then you should know that it doesn't matter what you do. If your name wasn't written in the book of life before the foundation of the world then you're screwed!

After all if God is all knowing then God knew before you were born if you would go to heaven or hell. Isn't that loving
he created some just to torture them forever. Just the kind of guy you want to buddy up to right???

Thank the pink monkey THERE IS NO GOD!!!
