We figure the kids will probably call her 'Flab for short. We really want her to have a rough childhood, so she develops good character... the same way god give us trials to strengthen us.

Flabby is a good name...but maybe Fatty would be better (Fatty for short)....or how about Portly or Fanny or just plain dumpy?

A true loving father would never suggest such a name for a child. Unless you enjoy being scoffed at and made fun of and think it is going to be beneficial! God expects us to use the mind of reasoning he gave you, But I guess that day you were out somewhere being STUPID!!!!! I too am very obese, with a sickness I can't fight lyphodema and when I leave the house small children and their adult counterparts rudely make faces and say rude things to me, without caring to even ask why I am the way I am, this comes from STUPIDITY. And you as a "loving" father would want to give them even more ammunition? I pity your child if this is the type of parent he/she is having one who has no IDEA of how to be up building or supporting. Shame on You.

Yes it would be wrong for you to name your child that and when she grows up she turn into a crazy killer and murders you then what?
no i'm playing.
but when considering naming a child it should be a sweet name that represents something more to you than just being over weight. Life is about you as a person on the inside not your outward apperance. Plus life is already hard on children nowadays without having to be teased and bullied because of their name. Don't make it harder by being stupid.

Is that what you would want ? God is a better candidate for the flab name not a real person you care about .we all have our trials as Nietzsche said what doesn't kill only serves to make one stronger but I wouldn't take it too far to the extreme .forgive my honesty but you asked.
peace out

No way! Don't do that it is cruel. She will develop good character by teaching her the right way with love!

God Bless You

God is the one to choose the trials...NOT you.

So, if you're being funny...good one...

If you're being serious...get a new name...your "physical faults" should not be her burden.

A name like that is a setup for failure.

Or ruin her completely. Rough childhoods don't always give you good character.

you actually want your child to have a horrible childhood, yeah that will work to build her strong spirit and character for future years, especially when she eventually finds out that you two brainsurgeons thought that humiliaton was a genuine tool for parenting
