Science explains many of the "hows" they just don't know the bottom "why". Not excepting the "ape-to-man" theory does not equate to ignoring all science.

Thanks to science I know that the sun is approx 93,000,000 mile from here. How and why it ignited in the first place along with the universe is a mystery to science but not to me.

Science-only people never truly investigate the possibility of the bible being the word of a far superior being commonly referred to as God. They say, for no apparent reason the universe exploded and set life into motion. Then man oozed out of the ocean, became an ape, and later a man. Just because.

I say that the universe was engineered by someone. Where did that someone originate from? Unlike the science-only person I don't have to theorize. I can easily say "I don't know". Hopefully, I will find out someday.

I thank science for the asthma meds I take and the inventions that make my life easier. I thank God for making the science possible.

Why does Jett (below) oppose me posting? Have I insulted anyone or made hurtful statements to anyone here?

Heres a theory: - I post, therefore I am -

Nemesis (below) has put words into my mouth. Let me repeat "I don't know the origins of God". Did I ever state that he just arrived from nowhere? I do know that he is the origin of me (humanity). That is all I know concerning anyone's origin. OK?

I don't know the origins of my Toyota Avalon. I accept the FACT that someone put it together. I know that it didn't evolve (physically) from something else.

Actually I do not "believe" that all religious people are described by -any- generalized assumption. To me that's the equivalent of prejudice or bigotry and I do not accept or condone such behavior because I value truth and integrity.

The problem I think is that you are making a false assumption and the people with whom you disagree are making a false assumption as well.

Why do you persistently cling to these false generalizations to justify your hostility towards people who simply disagree with you? If you are a person of faith - what difference would it make? Is your faith so weak and your self-esteem so low that you cannot accept that other people might have thoughts of their own?

There are many religious people of my acquaintance who are very much pro-science, technical and even scientists. There all also many people of the same technical or scientific background who are agnostic or atheist, and who have investigated the bible and find that it is not an acceptable argument for them. The fact that each point of view exists does not threaten or invalidate those of the opposite group - these are ALL honest and honorable men and women, and they can all live in the same world without degenerating into such simplistic arguments as "IS NOT!" and "IS TOO!"...

Please stop encouraging such pointless strife between your fellows. If I had one wish it would be that men and women such as yourself would simply show a bit more respect for others whether you agree with them or not.

No, I see this as an ethical question, not a non secular one. The non secular proper ought to opt to make it their own. They fortunately ignore about concerning the criteria of the bible that factor out that God is O.ok. with abortions and that little ones are literally not a man or woman until eventually they are literally a 365 days previous. analyze out Exodus. meanwhile, what's the distinction between a fertilized egg and a optimal cancers cellular? both are alive, both have DNA diverse from the host. Neither can proceed to exist without the host. what's the distinction between a blastula and a parasite? To me, a a million day 'previous' fertilized egg isn't better someone than a optimal cancers cellular is. there's a distinction in skill, although that is not certain. on the distinctive hand, a eighth month fetus is definitely someone. the precedence is determining a aspect between that day one and day 260 that the fetus will develop into human.

Once upon a time the scientist and the priest were the same people! LOL I'm assuming it was the ruffling of egos that made them split up...and they've been fighting ever since. In indigenous cultures, the shamans are part scientist, part priest.... It's civilized society that has it wrong.

Science doesn't need to fully investigate religion to find that the creation story is incorrect.

I have a question for you though, you insist that the universe can't just have appeared without some creator. Why then can you accept that the creator simply appeared without being created? Something as complex as god could not simply appear.

Science is wonderful as is science fiction. Science fiction has led to real science in so many ways. I find it hard to imagine we would have accomplished near what we have in space without it.

I doubt you'll say that when science finally proves that there is NO GOD!!!!

Science is not about believing in crap just because some preacher said it! Science is about EVIDANCE! Follow the evidance! There is ZERO evidance of a God! While there is TONS of evidance for evolution!!!

You have already established you know nothing about evolution. Why are you still posting.....

And I have read the Bible, probably clearer than most Christians from the 'debates' I have had. The Bible holds just as many, if not more, fallacies to worldly knowledge than any other religious text.

Edit: Oh, I have no problem with people stating their opinions. In fact, I encourage it. People posting and trying to argue on topics they have no idea about, that is rather unethical.

You are going to get a whole bunch of intellectual fools telling you that you know nothing about evolution and they can prove it to you. just go to this link. Go to school and do research before you dare talk to us superior beings. They are the next step in human evolution. So look out...Its like talking to a wall. backpedaling the whole time. bla bla bla... poor folks. God bless and good luck.
