The threat of sin and hell are used to try to keep people on the "right" path. However, a lot of the things listed as "sins" are innate to humans. It's pretty much a control thing. Laws are used to keep societies in check. The same is true for sin and religion. The way I see it, if God already knows what we're going to do from the moment we're born and he knows we're going to lead a life of sin and still allows us to come into this world anyway, he must be okay with it. Just don't steal or kill anyone. That's still bad.

Sin and salvation are rather funny when you think about them.
When they accept the idea of sin they are saying that they are responcibile for the actions of someone else. Someone that lived thousands of years ago.
Then with salvation they think that the actions of someone else thousands of years ago takes away their responcibility for their actions. After all just say Jesus forgive me and poof everything is better you're forgiven!
If you ask these same people do you think you are responcibile for the actions of a serial killer. They will say no. And if you ask if a neighbor wins the lottery do you feel you deserve the money. The answer again is no. It's rather funny how nutty their ideas are!
It just goes to show that the God lovers do not believe in personal responcibility for ones actions. Responcibility for ones actions must be a Satanic thing!

We are human. We sin but as Christians, we have an advocate with the Father (God). Jesus is our defense attorney and took on our sin at the cross. It has already been judged and the price paid by His shed blood. The issue now is not sin because it was forgiven at the cross but relationship with God though Jesus.
I John 1:8-10
If we claim that we're free of sin, we're only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won't let us down; he'll be true to himself. He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. If we claim that we've never sinned, we out-and-out contradict God—make a liar out of him. A claim like that only shows off our ignorance of God.

We are all sinners, everyone of us. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian or an Atheist.
To be forgiven in the Christian faith, you must admit your sins and repent. Once Christ forgives you, he forgets. I don't think we are obsessed with sin. Perhaps you have seen to many televangelists who do not represent Christianity as I see it.
In other religions, sin is met with death or dismemberment so you should probably worry about those people and not us.

THIS Christian is not obsessed with sin. I know that some are, but they are out of focus to the truth.
The focus for Christians is on Jesus in truth. So I can't get them all to recover. But perhaps in time, they will grow up spiritually.

We're not obsessed with sin. Not in our normal lives. But we come on here to help people, and all we hear is, "why is this a sin". It's all anyone ever wants to talk about on this forum.

I am human and I sin. I am a Christian. And please stop judging all Christians based entirely on your narrow view. And who are the "we" that are "here" that causes Christians to say "EEEH?" I have never said "EEEH" in my entire life.

To sin is to turn from God. But God understands that it's impossible for us to be free of sin. So he gave us this great guide to follow that is called The Holy Bible. Read it...There will be a test.
