It does not matter how long ago it happened it is always in the back of your sons head I know my neighbor did it to me once growing up. Did you tell your sister and her husband have u confronted the stepson? It's not to late to turn him in he needs help and he could be doing this to others or even his own children on down the road if he does not have children. The stepson could of had this done to him for him to do it to someone else or he could just flat out have a problem on his own. He needs help and your son needs counseling and you all might need it as a family to deal with the anger. Just pray and don't give up and don't blame your son for anything just be there for him and don't let him think it was his own fault! Get them both help before it happens to someone else!!

Statue of limitations ran out huh? The best revenge is to have your son confront the stepson. I know you want revenge, but I suggest your son confront your sisters stepson. I know it may cause a riff between your sis and you. But your son was violated and it needs exposed as openly as it can get so this sicko is then watched heavily not to be allowed to happen again to perhaps another family member or a child in society. ONCE IT IS BROUGHT UP OPENLY AND VERBALLY. WITH ALOT OF PEOPLE AROUND MIND YOU FRIEND. PEOPLE WILL WATCH THE STEP SON ALOT CLOSER TRUST ME. You can't abuse the mentally twisted already, they are already messed up by molesting others. SO YOUR DUTY IS TO BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION LOUD AND CLEAR IN A LARGE LARGE CROWD. PERHAPS, A GET TOGETHER. WHEN THIS IS EXPOSED IN PUBLIC, TRUST ME PEOPLES HUMAN NATURE IS TO THEN OBSERVE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE ONE IN QUESTION. HE WILL BE THEN WATCHED LIKE A HAWK AND SINCE HE HAS DONE IT TO YOUR SON SOMEONE MAY COME FORWARD WITH COURAGE AND EXPOSE IT HAPPENED TO THEM TO FROM THIS BOY/MAN NOW. YOU MAKING THIS EXPOSED COULD PREVENT OR GIVE COURAGE TO OTHERS THIS PERSON HAS VIOLATED. TRUST ME YOUR SON WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE VIOLATED.

Well, I would suggest writing him and letting him know that you found a lawyer that works with such cases and that the statue of limitations in this case is still true....and that your lawyer will be contacting him soon. However, I would not do this if you were referring to the abuser as of a young person as well. Reason is because sometimes kids do these things because they were molested themselves. So, take age into consideration.

what a bout good old fashioned physical revenge?
I'd have someone fake a call saying they were the police and needed to ask him a few questions regarding some events that occurred in 1985. Make him sweat on the phone and think that he's being watched...

File a police report. Charge that SOB that is the best revenge you can get. That way he has to think about what he did for the next many years while he rots in jail

i dont know about mental abuse, but i do know that i would definately be upset over something like that, but you also must realize that it happened over 20 years ago. do u think it would be possible to forget about it, maybe not forget, but at least forgive? does mentally abusing him make you any better than him?
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR LIFE!

i can understand that you are extremely angry but i would recommend putting your energy and resources into your son rather than into revenge. it may be wise to encourage your son to go to counseling... maybe it would be helpful if you did some constructive volunteer work with traumatized kids? and make sure the abuser isn't currently around any children...
