My 2 year old beagle recently was diagnosed with whipworm for the second time in a year. We treated him once for it and he is on Revolution which is basically takes care of everything. Well the vet called today and he has them AGAIN! She said our yard must be infected with them or something. He DOES eat my other dogs "feces" - gross i know! But we always catch him too late. What I need to know is how on earth do I get rid of these in my yard so he doesnt get them again? Please help and if you could leave an email or something if I get confused! Thanks =] HELP!

Once you have whipworm in your environment, you're stuck with it. Nothing will kill it, unfortunately. But, have your dog treated with Panacur(fenbendazole) for 3-5 days, then you should switch your dog's heartworm prevention to Interceptor, which prevents heartworm, whipworm, roundworm, and hookworm. I had the same problem with my dog....Panacur and Interceptor cleared the problem up once and for all.
As for your dog eating the other dog's feces, whipworm causes malnourishment, so your dog is looking for alternative sources of nourishment aside from it's food. Once you clear up the whipworm problem, he should stop. Also, he's probably had trouble maintaining weight....that should also improve.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7a5

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

You can't get rid of whipworms in the ground, and you definitely want your dog to be cure from it, because, unlike the rounds and tapes that feed on the food your dog eats, whipworms are blood suckers, and can easily kill a dog.
Revolution is a great topical treatment/prevention for all types of mites, for heartworm and flea prevention, but it doesn't control any of the intestinal worms.
Get your dog treated with Drontal Plus, it's a one time treatment, for all types of intestinal parasites, then switch it to a different monthly prevention that prevents both the heart worms, and intestinal worms.

I have never heard of Revolution treating whipworm infections. I would switch to Interceptor, which is used to treat whipworm infections. I do not think that there is any way to get rid of them in your yard, you will just have to treat the dog every month.

My 10 month old yellow lab puppy just got diagnosed with those today. (We live by cows, and he thinks their excrement is the greatest thing ever - aside from treats.) I was online researching the whipworm thing right after the vet's office called me about it. One page I saw said that whipworms aren't easily killed, and there's nothing on the marketplace to kill them in grass. The only way to get rid of them that way is to take out grass, rocks, etc. and replace them all. Good luck with the treatment, though. Chunk starts on it tomorrow when he eats.

The best thing to do to get rid of whip worms is to use seven dust. They have it at walmart. And it really works. This stuff won't even harm your pets.

There are dog food suppliments which will make the feces taste bad. You can get them at the link bellow.

Also, make sure your dog is getting enough food. Maybe he's hungry?
