Last semester he got very sick, sinus infection and vertigo. He ended up getting depressed and drinking a lot of alcohol and not finishing all his classes.

This semester I thought he would get back on his feet and finish school(senior in college). But, right away he started drinking heavily and being very sick. All he did was slept and drank. The symptoms I saw were throwing up whenever he ate or drank anything, I think throwing up blood too and depression.

He went to the hospital today claiming severe stomach pain. He is still there and when I visited him he said it was just a stomach ulcer, hence the pain and throwing up I guess. They had to remove fluids from his stomach and bladder because he said he couldn't pee for the last 12 hours before going to the hospital. Does an ultrasound reviel an ulcer? That's all I know of the doctors doing but they did a ton.

QUESTION!: Is this really all that was up then? Is there something else that is wrong!? Sorry for length. Thanks

thanks so far, but what I'm really getting at is: is he hiding anything? he always lied a little bit and hid drinking...etc. I wanna know if anyone can tell there might be something big missing. I plan on taking him to consuling with a friend soon btw.

I got vertigo and it laid me up for nearly 5 weeks consistantly and then some. It took nearly 8 months to really subside. I was VERY depressed. Here's what I did...I saw a homeopathic and researched nutrition. I had to detoux and also change my diet. Sometimes vertigo is caused by inner ear fluid that builds up and causes the equilibrium to become imbalanced. I was sensitive to foods I was eating and probably with a combination of that and being defitient in nutrients... I got veritgo..... The Dr. called it Labrinitis. Anyhow, getting rid of that will help with the depression alot. There could be other issues but it sounds like it stemmed from the vertigo. I hope that helps.

it seems the friend is an alcoholic. That probably caused the stomach problems [drinking alcohol]. Drinking does cause a person to throw up blood. An ulcer is diagnosed by a simple blood test for a certain bacteria. He is very sick in his digestive system because of the alcohol and can get better with abstinence. Probably not an ulcer. Best wishes to you and your friend.
