I've never disputed that other cultures have flood myths. Whether it's all the same flood, or a different flood is immaterial. In fact, there is simply not enough water on earth to cover all the land at once, even if all the glaciers and ice caps melted.

I think the final say for World Wide Flood lies in the hands of Scientists and according to facutal evidence it never happened, as claimed by the Bible or other myths....If it were there wuold be clear signs in the geological evidence which no reputable scientist will say did happen....
Understand that this myth is very old and was based on the original flood story of Gilgamesh...the story was so profound that as human beings continued to spread they carried it and modified it to their cultures likings...This story is at least 5000 years old but seems to have started from the one story which we all know is fiction...check it up on wikipedia.

the reason i belive the worlds religions have so many storys about floods even when they have never met is that water is their and has provied its power so there being some great flood makes perfect sence to everyone . but the great flood you talk of is the christian onea and the sumarians lived in the fertile cresent were judasim then christianity came to be .

There was a Great Flood. Of that I'm absolutely convinced. Many more than Noah and his friends survived, though.
