Can you use your keyboard in safe mode or in the BIOS? If yes I would bet you have a virus. If not I would believe you have a keyboard failure. Keyboards at Walmart run $15+.

Is is possible you accidentally activated "StickyKeys"?
This is in "accessibility" in the Control Panel and is meant to help handicapped persons who need a little more time to type without repeating keystrokes.
Try:
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Accessibility
if there is a checkmark in "use StickyKeys" click the box to clear it.
This will happen if you hold the Shift key down a second or two too long, get a dialog box, and click o.k.
Been there. Done that.

If a new keyboard does not work, or any of the other methods described dont work, I would say that your problem is either a bad driver or a malfunctioning port on your motherboard. If your keyboard is attached using USB then I would reccommend testing a PS/2 keyboard or vice versa. This can help narrow the problem. Also, you can try rolling back your keyboards drivers or even attempting a system restore to a date before you started having problems.

Check your Keyboard Cable connected in the back of your PC. Then restart computer. If it doesnt' work try to clean up your keyboard by using compressed gas duster. If it doesn't work your keyboard may damaged.

Get a Mac... Windows sucks - it always crashes with bug problems... I keep having this problem. I can't wait to trade my Intel PIV-based Win XP PC in for my first Mac when Leopard is released later this spring! Take a test run at your local Apple store and you will never look back!

driver problem?
while your computer is booting hit f8 and boot it in safe mode, however if your keyboard is broken pressing f8 won't do anything lol
try it out with a different keyboard or plug the 'broken' one into a different computer
if the keyboard doesnt work in safe mode, consider looking for kinks in the wire, if all cables are set right
or try calling the company too see if its still in warrenty!
good luckk!

1. Verify that your keyboard is connected properly to your PC.
2. Disconnect keyboard and connect it again.
3. Get some other working keyboard and connect it to your PC and see if new keyboard works.

How about reseating the keyboard cable? Otherwise, buy a new keyboard. They are cheap.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
