Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit comprise The Holy Trinity. Jesus was God made flesh and He prayed to His "Heavenly Father" when He was a man here on Earth. I know it's a little hard to grasp at first. The Holy spirit is the presence of God that dwells in us and communicates to us.

Some sects deny the Holy Trinity while others hold fast that doctrine. Those who believe the Trinity believe in one god but that god is a Godhead with three separate personalities.
Me an another pagan were discussing that very thing tonight. He believed Christians had three Gods. As a former Christian i tried to explain how the Christian views this but I don't think he ever got it. Some use the apple you have the Apple peel, the meat you eat and the core. Three distinct separate parts of the apple, but all three just a s much apple as the other. This is the way they see the Godhead. God the father, the son who is also God and the Holy Spirit who is also God. Three distinct personalities but all three just as much God as the other.
Confusing, yes, but to the Christian who believes the Trinity it is not confusing at all.

Jesus is 100% God but 100% man at the same time. As a man, he could pray to His Father. As God he is the same:
John 1:1 "The Verb was with God, and the Verb was God"
You see? at the same time he is equal with His Father, and he is a different persons (one God, three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

They say they Jesus is God because they have been decieved, neither is the Trinity real, it is a Christian concoction, second, if you dont believe Jesus is God then you are not Christian and that is true. Jesus never said he was God, he never said he was the Son of God, but said that he was the son of man, and he even agreed that he was the King of the Jews, he is not God, not even the Son of God, but he is the son of God just like we are sons and daughters of God. and to say that Jesus and the Father are one is proof of Jesus being God, then we who follow after Christ are God also cause Jesus prayed to his Father in Heaven that we may also be one with God, like he was one with the Father. Also in 325 A.D a council met and declared that Jesus was God, and in 381A.D they then met and included the Holy Spirit, and came up with the Trinity. Did Jesus say in John 17:2 in his prayer that "this is eternal life that they may know you the one and only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." Even Jesus knew he was not God.

When Jesus was down on earth, he was not God, he was
the son of Man. He had to be one of us & go through the
sufferings as a man in order to redeem us. Not only that, God was proving a point here that if Jesus as a man can lay down his life for another, so should "true christian"be. But when he was resurrected, he was divine. Remember
how close he was to mary magdalene when he was man yet when resurrected, he told her; don't touch me! because He was part of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God. Okay, let me explain. I hope I can make it clear and that God will help me with this answer, because I don't want to confuse you more. Okay, God is up in heaven right and He saw all the chaos in the word. So, he sent himself (spirit) made manifest in the flesh, (Jesus) to the world. Jesus is God made manifest in the flesh, the purpose was to bring his kingdom to himself and to show that no matter how much pain we go through, God can understand, he relates, because He himself went through the same pain and worse. This is the trinity. Have you heard of it. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. They are one, they come in different forms. God is up in heaven right. His Holy Spirit, which is him in another form. It's what we have right now, God's voice, His way of communicating to us. Jesus is the form of God that came down to us.
I hope I answered your question. If not, email me. Scripture says that they are one. I wish I can find it for you. If not, hopefully someon else will.

Well, there is what is considered the Aryan Heresy. Quite a way back, there was a huge debate about the nature of Jesus. The Trinitarian Doctrine won out in the end and the other was consigned to heresy status... by fallible men at that.

This is a hard one for me too. I've been told that God came to the earth in human form to try to teach and save mankind which he created. But how can Jesus sit on the right side of God in Heaven? When Jesus was baptised why did God say this is my son in whom I'm well pleased?
I hope someone has a better answer for you.

Your question shows good thought!
1- There is God the Father, the Father of our spirits, a resurrected perfected being.
2- Also Jesus Christ, with his own body of flesh and bones, resurrected and perfected.
3- The Holy Ghost, a personage of spirit that can be every where to testify and teach us of truth.
The 3 are one in purpose, what one says the others would say, as they are perfect and make up the Godhead.
A link is provided to the LDS church web site, they teach this and your welcome to study it.
