Sounds like a great idea. I would just tell her boss you would like to make special weekend plans and not go into a lot of detail. Just make sure she can get the weekend off. That way you are not putting her in the position of feeling like her co-workers are too involved in your relationship.

Just talk discreetly to someone in the office, or ask your lady what is her schedule, since you heard about this restaurant and you want to make reservations, so you need to know what weekend she is free, so you can, say, go out late. (She still won't suspect the romantic getaway,) You can also ask her which weekend she is working, because you need to "help a friend move", that is also a good excuse to get her schedule and make your plans accordingly. Wonderful idea by the way. I hope my fiance will be taking notes from you...

No - that sounds very romantic. But it all depends of her. I don't know her, so I can't tell how she'll respond.
She may be suspicious of the getaway, but then again, she may be relieved and surprised - you'll at least know what you are dealing with, and how she reacts to that type of thing. You aren't doing anything wrong, she if she reacts harshly, it's not your fault, it's something inside her.
Just go for it and see - you'll have a better perspective of this woman anyway it works out.

Sorry, I'm going to be the dark horse in here.
I would wait at least six months or so before I would start calling and arranging things with her work. Perhaps you could call one co-worker discreetly and discuss your plan with him or her.
It's a great idea...it really is. I think it is really romantic. I would just stick my toe in the water before I would jump right in the pool.

What is her line of work first? Well, that would sound very romantic. Get her opinion first. Make a story. Tell her that a friend of yours did that and try to get her opinion. Well, if she said that it sounds romantic then go for it.

What if you gave her the weekend you wanted and just asked her to "reserve" it, with a twinkle in your eye?
That way, she can clear her schedule, but also be surprised by whatever you have planned.
You might also consider her needs - tell her you want to plan a surprise, and let her choose the weekend.

I think that sounds wonderful. I know I would love that. The only thing I would be worried about is how seriously she takes her work. For some people work is more important to them than their own lives. If she is not like that, I say go for it. You are sooo sweet!

ya that's a great idea. Talk to her boss, not her coworkers. And talk to her in person. That way you'll have a better chance of getting her as much time off as you need.
