Hi:

Just a thought that might aid in character development for them. What is their heritage - are they USA people and basically caucasian like English, Irish, Scottish, French. You might try picking a name that would reflect some of that.

What is the derivation of Catherine and James - they both sound like they are probably English.

Not that it matters, but having a little exposure to lineage stuff, I traced back some of my ancestors to the founding of Nantucket, and from looking on the Family Search website, some of the family names from around there were Coffin, Starbuck (that made me wonder about the source of the coffee chain), Brown, White, Taylor.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas!

SInce you are the author of this book you have total creative control but in sticking with names that start with a B I think that the name Bartholomew is very strong and powerful.

Catherine and Jamie Bartholomew

How about Biqusak, Bahde, Blotsky, or Belarmino? Or you could try one with one without the letter 'B', like Donnahue or Lavadeara.
Yet, I think in this case the 'B''s are the most obscure.

How about Beowulf - that is a historical name from early Scottish history, I think.
