There are many non-Bible believing cultures who believe in a worldwide flood.

Well...maybe because when anyone mentions it in religion questions, the atheists all go bananas and say its not possible. Of course, it is possible, whether you believe in a religion or not.

mormons maybe? im not too sure, catholics too. but they might fall under christians. it is written in the bible so anyone who believes in the bible or at least the old testament would acknowledge the worldwide flood.

There is also a reference to the great flood in Greek mythology . . . which kind of begs the question: was the great flood mentioned in the Bible just a folklore passed down originating from Greek mythology.

It is listed in the old testament of the Holy Bible. Christians and Jews both read and believe in the old testament.

not everyone assumes that, just close-minded people and ignorant people. its usually the ignorant ones who voice their opinions more loudly and readily because they think theyre always right. but there are tons of educated people out there that don't assume this. muslims believe it as well, and i think there might have been other faiths, seeing as how the Gilgamesh epic details this notion as well.
