STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN. Don't get me wrong they are great, stylish cars for the first few years. When the warranty is over, the expensive fun begins. Had a lot of experience with everything from old Beetles to the New Beetle and Jettas. The repairs are constant, expensive and the cars are designed for lots of "special" tools that, SURPRIZE, only dealers carry. Try a Hyundai. Great warrantys, as reliable as a Honda and FAR cheaper. The Accent can be decked out nicely if you buy new, or the Santa Fe is a smooth riding 4WD SUV with a sunroof and power everything for a very reasonable price. I currently own a new Elantra and an older Santa Fe and think they are as good as any Toyota or Honda I've ever owned. AND a LOT cheaper. Good Luck!

i have a '93 ford thunderbird. i love it. it is sleek, sexy, and fast as hell. it is good on gas, and in general, ford (or domestic) car parts are cheap and easy to find if repairs are necessary down the road.

get something used. that's what you want. used and reliable. find a friend or relative or someone who knows about cars to check it for you (engine, transmission, suspention, ect). it is better to have a used car that you can pay in full in cash than to be young and stuck with a car note. esp. if in college. you already have to pay for books, tuition, meal plan, and whatever else; you do not need a car note stacked on top of all of this (this is how people mess up credit)

i suggest an older car (90-98). try a '93 civic SI. good gas, nice look, very expandable (turbo kits, mufflers, ect). if not try something else small like a malibu or focus, something like that.

till a be certain signs and indicators the employ, a teenager won't be able to employ a motor vehicle. And what the different human being suggested about US automobiles shows someone who's unaware of the present state human beings automobiles. I really have had both American and jap and for over all lowest value of possession, the american automobiles value a lot less. Plus, protection has not something to do with it. they are all outfitted to the same criteria. protection is an argument of length better than the position a motor vehicle changed into outfitted.

You just have to search around and try to find something. It's hard to find something that looks good and is cheap. Believe me, i'm in the process of trying to find one now. Just don't be pressured to buy and car and make sure it's one that you really like.
