You are experiencing the hunger that God has placed in every human to seek Him. Some people try to fill it with drugs, alcohol, sex, misc. addictions, etc. Some also turn to other religions because they may not require much from them or they can have their cake and eat it too. The best advice I can give you is to feed that hunger with the WORD. Get in the Bible and see for yourself what the only true God is all about. You can't be a Buddhist and a Christian at the same time. I tried the New Age Movement before but there are too many holes in it. Christianity is really the only thing that makes sense of our lives and the world we live in.

Buddhism clearly states there is no all controlling one GOD.
The reasons are
1.Why does he make people and animals suffering who hasn't done any thing wrong to anyone. (Specially kids)
2.Why some people are better, beautiful and intelligent and some other don't have any one of those good things.
According to Buddhism everything thing happening has a reason.
Lord Buddha shown the way to understand the reality about mind, life and the nature and the way to understand the NIRVANA The ultimate cosalation.

Get the original new Testament before King Constantine misconstrued everything. You will be so enlivened I was. Also if yo are looking for the same teachings of but believe in God I follow Krishna Consciousnes which is extended Christianity. Extremely enlivening. We love it. go to harekrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. Give the meaning to human life. What we do in teh spiritual world and how to practice that here.

Buddhism is actually an atheistic religion. There is no God involved in nirvana.
It sounds like you were going to a non-Catholic Christian church. I suggest you explore Catholicism at your local parish.
If you have not received Holy Communion or Confirmation and just want to more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time. There is no obligation to continue.
If you are a teen, hopefully you can also join a youth group.
With love and prayers in Christ.

God is a man made concept that we may better understand a higher power. I was in the same place you are. Going to church and offerings and prayer was just going through the motions. Lip service. Finally, I decided I'd follow my own way and I've never been happier or more fulfilled studying Shamanism.
Don't let anyone on here tell you that if you don't believe the same as them that your search for truth isn't over, that you have to dig deeper until you believe as they do. Study Buddhism some more, but don't stop there. Study all kinds of religion until you find one that calls to your heart. Then go for it. Good luck!
Email me if you have any more questions.

Religions provide a great sense of community, provided you can accept their doctirnes or beliefs. You may have far too much curiosity to fit in well with any religion and might want to consider a non-religious spiritual path.
Buddhism will provide a great deal more flexibility in regard to what personal beliefs you uphold so Buddhism is a good religion for people who are seekers. Buddhists can be found in nearly every culture and those converting to Buddhism come from many different religions, so you are likely to find Buddhists with whom you can share a strong sense of community if that is what you are seeking.

Before you look into Budheism, look deaper into Christianity, where you are now...Understand it in depth...that way when u look into other religions, u can make a sound and logical decision.
There is no middle ground between budheism and Christianity, because they have no common faith in the same God.
Christianity is not about rules and regulations, but rather a deap and true heart-felt love for God, expressed in your way of life. It is about finding God not as a master, but a Father.
Do not feel as a hypocrite, but struggle to find yourself...and do not think only perfect people go to church, but rather people go to church to become perfect...Church is like a hospital, it's medicines is the sacrement, and the nurses are the preachers and priests, and the real Doctor is God Himself, who cares and loves you, Your Heavenly Father waiting for you to go back and stay with Him.
That is it in a nut-shell...obviously it is much deaper than that, but take it one step at a time, and see how God leads you if you genuinely ask Him you guide you.
Email me if you wish (copticphoenix@yahoo.com.au), and I am more than happy to have a deap ad respectable discussion, and by God's grace, you will find your own path finding God.
God bless.

You will find what you are looking for in Christianity, particularly Catholicism.
"What's right for me" is not the way to go about it. If you believe in God, you must consider what is right by His Judgement, not so much yours. Just because there is a host of religions available doesn't mean God sanctions all of them. Some are better than others.
I beleive, because of you Catholic background (as scant as it might be) you are inclined to believe in Christianity.
You would do well to consider it. In fact, if you did become Catholic, you can help your family live up to the the ideals of their Church. Not too shabby of a proposition, is it?

Seems like your searching for "pie in the sky" sensationalism,"to believe in something" The next time you are frightened or given bad news or see something that takes your breath away with its beauty, pay attention to "who" your soul crys out to, It will be a higher power, then start to seek on your own, go to the scriptures of the bible and of the Zen and Buddhists and Judaism. Do spiritual search. Don't ask someone what religion you should be!
