All caps is considered "shouting" online. Using all caps takes away from that expressiveness. Also, anyone who tries to read a page full of all caps realizes that it takes more space and becomes difficult to read. It can be very offensive to the eyes. For these reasons, all caps are considered rude.

Two reasons for All Caps. The first is laziness pure and simple. The second is pure rude. All caps is a on line no no generally used by those who are angry at the world or those who think THERE better than the rest. No typo here the yell was intentional. Not a nice feeling huh?

It's part of online etiquette. If a person uses all caps it is meant to be understood as they are shouting. Perhaps a negative thing.

I agree with you though, sometimes larger text is easier for some people to read.

Because on-line it is the way people express yelling or shouting. I realize that you may not agree with this, but that is still what it means on the Internet and it's been an accepted interpretation for a long time.

I asked the same question once. I was on this forum and people got mad at me because I was writing all caps. I did not understand, but I guess they did have no arguments to respond and they attacked me with that one. They even called me ignorant and stupid, but if you ask me: THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT (I'm not yelling at you ok?) LOL
"There are more important things to worry about". Someone answered me.

It's an early computer age myth that it means shouting and it needs ot be laid to rest.
Capital letter sas you say are easier to read to many people, and there is nothing wrong with it.

because it is the regulation of comptuer communique. a lifeless ringer for, if youchronic on the incorrect side, it is against the law.. its a standard common that CAPS specifies better emphasis on what's being communicated. and in pc communique, it signifies that you're yelling to get your element by and in our u . s . a . yelling is taken under consideration rude.

I find it more difficult to read more than a couple of lines that have been written in all caps.

Some people consider it the equivalent of shouting. When my boss sends me a memo in all capitals I don't much like it. It might be appropriate for someone who is visually impaired and needs it for reading purposes.

I think that if one of my friends was talking in all caps, it wouldn't be rude if all her sentences were in caps. But, if just one of them was, maybe she was frustrated or angry just then. You get what I'm saying?
