Cutting yourself and using pen ink? What? That's screaming for an infection.

You can make a tattoo machine with a guitar string, cassette tape, a plastic tube from a pen, tape, and a small battery operated motor.

Just see a professional. You'll need one to cover up the mess, anyway.

Edit: Rubbing alcohol is in no way a proper form of sanitation. The only way to guarantee the needle is clean is by using an autoclave. I would not trust the techniques of inmates for obvious reasons. Cutting yourself with a pin is more painful than using a tattoo machine, and the distribution of ink will be uneven and sloppy.

Not that this is a good idea. In fact you can get infections...bad ones.
But guys in my school who were not so smart went ahead and did this anyways. Here's how they did it.
First they got a needle. Like the kind you sew with. The largest kind.
then they broke an ink pen. The see thru kind of pen usually. Got out the ink.
Put the needle in the ink, and then pierce your skin with it. Don't lightly pierce your skin w/ the needle, really get it in there.
You can also cut your skin first a little w/ a knife to open it, then put the ink over the "cut" area.
But ew. seriously. Why anyone would want a tattoo is beyond me. Especially a home made one.

Edit: and YES the ink from a pen will work. This is often how people in prison manage to tattoo themselves. To reduce your risk of infection, I'd recommend cleaning the needle w/ alcohol before use....and contrary to what others are saying, you won't die of hepatitis or aids...providing you are not sharing your needle w/ anyone else at the same time....don't these people know anything about how these diseases are spread?? And NO infection you will get will be life threatening...you will just have to go to the Dr to get some antibiotic...again w/ the people here blowing things out of proportion!!!! Enough already you people!!!

WHEN YOU FIRST START OUT WITH IT IF YOU GET IT FROM THE WEB SITE THEY WILL SEND YOU SOME INK.

BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS GOT YOU YOUR LOCAL HOBBY STORE AND MOST LIKLY FIND SOME INDIA INK IT WORKS GREAT THATS WHATS MINE IS IN.

My friend had some thing rigged up with needles, a remote control motor and indian ink. He also has his full name doing across his chest and around the middle of his chest is starts making its way up. So he has his name on his chest crooked.
I know another guy who bought tons of things online to do it professionally. Sure you can find some sites to buy it but it will be expensive.

don't, if you don't have a background in tattooing, chances are you will hate the result and be stuck with it forever. just spend the money and get a pro to do it. if you aren't 18 yet, just wait. just remember, would you want a pikachu on your chest when you're 35? i know i wouldn't.

You don't. Go to a professional, ask questions and make sure he's using steril needles etc., and make sure he knows what he's doing (hence the professional part)

Any professional will do a better job than you and you're more likely to harm yourself doing a homemade job.

use da sticker tatoos u just put water and there easy to take off u could usually get them at da 50 cent machine where they have stickers mostly in mexican stores yadadamean!?!

Please don't do it cause its a risk of it getting infected or not right equipment for it.U will regret it later.Save up for one and they do proper job,u might do it but it will end up looking funny and u wont like it at the end.

...get the pin wrap the badage about a couple milamiters frm the pin tip remember to do it tightly thn dip the pin in the ink n press it into the skin untill ya got the badage a little bit in take it out n repeat n thts how the ink gets in :D i hope tht helped thts how i did myn n its totaly awesome
