It depends on what kind of shampoo and conditioner you use. Some can make your hair oilier and some can dry it out. If you need to add moisture to your hair, I would recommend trying Infusium23 Moisturology. They make a shampoo and conditioner that is really reasonably priced, usually under $10 for the economy size, and works just as well as the better name brands like Paul Mitchell. Infusium23 also makes shampoo and conditioner for other hair types. I believe they make one for adding volume, one for color treated hair, and one for normal hair. I am sure you can find one that would best fit your needs. Suave also has a good new line of products out which are a copy of the top salon brands. Just a word to the wise. The absolute worst products on the market that you could choose are the Garnier Fructis products. All the ads make you believe that these Fructis products will make your hair stronger. They are quite the contrary. Fructis products are very harmful and drying to your hair. I have heard this from many cosmetologists and have experienced it first hand! Good luck. I hope I helped you out with your dilemma.

Depends on the hair type and you may not need the conditioner maybe just a light leave in spray?.....shampoo's can do the adverse effect if your not using the right one ...even the so called "dandruff" shampoos. Try a clarifying shampoo and a leave in conditioner. That alone can help your wallet and you can get a better shampoo. Try Nexxus or Paul Mitchell for the shampoos and leave in.

wash your hair and dont condition it every day. use a spray in conditioner it wont make you hair look oily. my hair is oily no mater what i do. so i have to wash my hair in the mornings, cause at night if i wash it, the next morning i will look oily again. if you do use conditioner everyday, only put it on the midshaft and down. keep it off your scalp.

it only makes your hair oilier if you use incorrect amounts of the products or don't wash them out completely. for your hair, you should use a soup-spoon amount of shampoo, more for longer hair, and vice versa. for conditioner, try to focus on the ends of your hair, since that's where the damage happens.
good luck!
