my 3 year toddler has been potty trained since 2 1/2 years old. but in the past 3 weeks she has been asking to go pee pee 5-6 times before going to bed. first time she'll pee a little. 10 minutes later she'll have a little more. 5 minutes later, she'll say she got to go again but nothing comes out. 10 minutes later she'll say she have to go again but since i got there late she had an accident.

she'll pee 5-6 times to before finally going to bed. my spouse and i think that she is trying to delay going to bed. but if we ignore here request to the bathroom she'll have an accident.

she is potty trained during the day. at night she'll wake up and would go potty with no problems. my problem is the hour before she finally falls asleep.

sounds like she doesn't want to go to bed - she's stalling. She must be pretty smart.

If she does not do this during the day and there's nothing medically wrong, make her go to bed after telling her to go "all the way" because its time to go to sleep. Be gentle and firm to let her know this is not acceptable behavior. Good Luck!

She could be putting off bed, yet she could be anxious about an accident. Maybe try to stop fluids about two hours before bedtime to make sure everything is out of her system for the night before bed. Does it happen any other times in the day? Could she have a UTI? If she has these symptoms more increasingly through out the day you should probably call the pediatrician.

Set a time of cut off of beverages, make sure she doesn't have a bladder infection also, u know there is an urgency to pee when there is an infection. It may be true that she is delaying sleeping though. is she really using the bathroom or just going in

first have her checked to make sure she does not have a UTI.
Or she could be delaying having to go to sleep! Alot of toddlers/kids will go to the potty or have to have a drink of water a hundred times before going to bed so they can delay having to go to sleep. Good luck

I say let her go to the bathroom 5-6 times, either that or she might have an accident.

I would say she is just using it as an excuse to not go to bed.

But to be on the safe side have her checked for a bladder infection.

it may sound cruel, but maybe let her sit in the wet clothes for a while, maybe it will gross her out and she may stop this. I did this to my child when she was potty training and it worked the first try.
