it may sting because of the chemicals in the toothpaste. all they are doing though is working on your skin to cleanse it.worse case scenario your skin may be allergic to the toothepaste you will find that out by redness around the area that you appied the toothepaste

i find that if the spot is open , if i have squeezed it first then it sting. if you havent messed with the spot then you should only feel a slight sting,
