Saying the name of Christ and feeling like their representing Christ but have no tolerance for others who don't believe the same way? No offensive answers please, I want to know how do you feel about this situation? Christians are invited to answer also. How do you feel when you see other believers not showing others what it means to be a christian (like they would shun or elclude others for not having the same perspective, etc.)?

I strongly believe that very few people in this world really tolerate as well as they claim. This includes Christians, and not just with the outside world, but amongst ourselves. I've been called horrid names, and told I'm going to hell, simply because I'm a different denomination from someone else.
And this old excuse of, well we're still human, I mean come on. We are supposed to be striving for higher ground, not settling for mistakes because we "can't help it". Yes we do make mistakes, I make them too. But enough of covering it up and defending it. It's time we start owning up to it and trying to change.
If we want to get people to stop sinning, that's great. But no one ever changed because they got yelled at. People change because they're compelled to, by people who truly care and offer real advice.

Mostly depressed about the infinite depths of human stupidity and hypocrisy, with a carefully restrained urge to demonstrate whitebelt sparring combination #3 underneath the sadness. I also feel a little sorry for people who are so lost that they feel that God wants them to oppress homosexuals and kill or convert all Muslims. Is it really their fault that they are this way, or were they so brainwashed as children that they never had an opportunity to think differently?

I just understand that they are misled by King Constantine who misconstrued everything at the council of Nicea 325 AD. He changed everything. Read the original New Testament The Gospel of the Nazirenes go to gospelofthenazirenes. The original teachings of Christ. The Christian Essenes have the truth and don't act like fanatics and they honor all other religions and see Christ as a great Pure Saint, but not the only one.

I'm a non-christain (Hindu) and I have experienced religious prejudice from those who claim to be christian! There is a man at a major railway station in the city who hands out pamphlets and reads from the bible aloud, and when I declined his invitation to go to church and explained to him that I am a Hindu convert, he began ranting about how I had shunned God in favour of "a third world religion". That kind of intolerance (to be bluntly honest) makes me sick. This man stands in a public place telling others to "love thy neighbour" etc, when it would appear that what he really means is: Love thy neighbour... Providing that they are caucasian christians...

Regardless of what religious denomination you are, you need to practise what you preach, and in most cases that includes treating your "fellow man" with respect and dignity... 2 things that are sorely lacking in today's world.

The truly Christ-like ones I like just fine. They can come over for dinner at my house, no problem.

The intolerant ones who claim to be tolerant but don't know the meaning of the word - well, I can't say on Y!A how exactly I feel about them, but trust me, it isn't good.

It seems like I encounter more of the latter online and more of the former in real life.

LEt's see.

Jesus said don't divorce except for adultery. That's a rule

Jesus said, to keep from being a fornicator all should marry. That's a rule

Jesus said sell all you own and buy a sword, but those who live by the sword die by the sword

JEsus said go out with nothing in your pockets, leave your home behind, leave all your possesioins with your family. Take only your shoes, coat and cloak, but if SOMEONE asks for your coat, also give them your cloak.

If asked to carry a pack 5 miles, carry it 10 miles.

Ask for what you need. If people shun you, wipe the dust off your feet and keep going.

YOU really DO ALL THAT

If you don't, you ain't a follower or believer in Jesus

You just some Religious person who stands, sings, kneels, drinks grape juice and PRAISES jesus and waits for the RAPTURE to take them to heaven.

Go read the Bible and FIND OUT what you are EXPECTED to do according to the WORDS of JESUS

To do otherwise is to SPIT on JEsus.

I have no problem with Christians. 90% of my family and friends are Christians!

I have no problem with Christians. I know and like a lot of them, and I respect their choice of faith. But if they choose to engage me in a philosophical debate, I usually find it easy to poke holes in their logic.

Too many people have their own idea of what Christianity is. Too many opinions and not enough spiritual guidance.

I feel pity for them. They expect a great reward on judgement day, but they will be very disappointed. There are many who say they "believe" but in their hearts, they do not...
