Am i the only person who thinks that the human race will only truly evolve when it no longer believes in religion and the false hope that it brings, and rather people lived for today and made the most of every day,if we were to push all the money religion ganerates and never gives to the poor(eg the vatican ) and other pyramid scheems we would have no need for charitys as there would be a high standard of life for all people and other creatures on the planet
sometimes i am disgusted to consider myself in the same catagory as the human race as we treat each other and other animals so so badly it makes me feel sick.

Yeah, I know how you feel... I am ashamed to be part of the human race nowadays. Sometimes I wish I was a wild animal then at least my "collective species conscience" would be clean. I especially think that the way we treat all the other species on this planet is disgraceful and I hope one day that we can evolve past that and become morally enlightened... that will never happen so long as organized religion abounds, it teaches that we are superior to all other life and that other animals dont even have souls and were merely put here for the superior intelligence of man to control..(whatever!!)... how can we ever grow and change with attitudes like that?

Ethics and morals get up from the society's favor to guard itself into destiny generations. they don't look depending on faith, they are secular words. both words mean a sufferer that desires holding. by skill of holding human being victims, society ordinarily is secure. as an celebration, if homicide and robbery were no longer discouraged by skill of the ethics and morals of a society, the equipment of nutrition production would nicely be compromised endangering the finished society. faith makes use of the theory of religious sin to regulate the believers. maximum religions comprise society's ethics and morals (offenses with victims) into their theory of sin. yet religions also upload "sins" that haven't any further some thing to do with victims or damage to society. those in undemanding words 'religious' sins are bothersome in trouble-free words to the contributors of that different faith. Examples are nutritional regulations, marriage ceremonies, and so on. those religious sins would nicely be an ethical concern in the club yet are not any further outdoors the club.

Gurdjieff used to say that whatsoever is happening in this world is absolutely what can be expected -- wars, fights, riots, murder, suicide. Someone asked Gurdjieff, "Can something be done to stop wars?" He said, "Nothing can be done -- because those who are fighting, they are fast asleep, and those who are pacifists, they are fast asleep. And everyone is going on in a sleep. These happenings are natural, inevitable. Unless man is awake, nothing can be changed, because these are all just by-products of his sleep. He will fight; he cannot be stopped from fighting. Only the causes can be changed."

It's all to do with control, and you are quite correct in saying that we can only truly evolve when we get rid of the shackles of religion. Oh dear all the religious nutters will be giving thumbs down and saying we will burn. Like I really give one.

One of the hardest things for me was having to admit I was a Human Being. As much as I hate to do it I can always fall back on my humanity.

~No, you are not alone. You just don't hear from the rest of us because we don't spend our time on this site whining. We do something with and about our beliefs. What are you doing about yours? Ah, yes, you are making the world a better place by sitting at your keyboard doing you mental masturbation in cyberspace. I wait with baited breath for the changes you will bring.
