...was told to get some Potsassium, but picked up Potassium Gluconate by mistake, is this still ok ? Is it basically the same thing as long as it has potassium in it ?

That will be fine. Orange juice and Bananas have potassium in them that your body will absorb better.One drawback is that you have to consume quite a bit of them.Leg cramps are not always caused by low potassium. Are you taking a diuretic or excising a lot? Those are a couple of things that lowers your potassium levels. If this persists you may want to see a doctor.

its OK to take potassium gluconate ... its a good source of potassium usually taken as an oral food supplement... its the most widely used potassium supplement due to its less salty taste, compared to other supplements.

take it with food as a whole tablet or capsule ( don't crush or chew ) to avoid side effects. And always ask the doctor about all the info about your meds.

I think so, but table salt works just as well. I keep some little fast food salt packets with me and a salt shaker in my night stand. When the cramps hit, dump some salt in your mouth and hold it there until it melts. Then swallow it with about 8 ounces of water. Clear those nasty cramps up in a minute.

Don't know, however, calcium supplements works for me.
