I love diamonds too, but not so much the gold. Gold is more for older generations in my opinion. If your girl is anything like me, white gold or silver will suit her much better. Also, that is alot of little diamonds. Maybe go for fewer diamonds that are a little bigger?? Sorry, I don't want to sound materialistic, because it really is the thought that counts, but you have to remember, she is gonna wear it and look at it everyday, and I just think that ring is a little too...gaudy. Here, try this one from Kohls, it's really really pretty, and less expensive than that one. Good luck. ( I am sure she will appreciate anything you give her. That is sooo sweet of you to get her something so special.)

I would not buy an engagement ring online especially without seeing it first. You never know what they are going to send you. If you can't spend a lot, try antique stores or places that sell old jewelry, you can find something there. Who says it has to be a diamond either? Pick her birthstone or a stone that reflects her favorite color then when you have money, or on an aniversary, upgrade the ring. Good luck. PS-Don't like the ring from Amazon.

what my son did when choosing a ring for his bride to be was to visit a real old fashioned jewelry store.
The jeweler educated him on diamond size, clarity, cut and color.
After you learn this from the jeweler, then go looking on line for the best deal for the best diamond or in this case diamonds.
Just a bit of a hint from my limited knowledge on diamonds. This ring is a cocktail ring, it has many small stones that on their own would not have much of a shine or glimmer (lots of imperfections). When placed with other small stones, they do shine off each other and give the appearance of a better diamond than they are.
It is a good ring to get when you cannot afford to get a larger stone, and it does not look like an engagement ring, so no unreal expectations from you or from her.

I wouldn't buy the ring you link to. You should look into a wholesaler/manufacturer for the best price.
If you want to buy her jewelry, take a look at what she currently owns. Does she like silver or gold? Intricate or simple? Modern or classic? The ring you link to looks like it was intended for someone older than you. (not that I know how old you are, but I'm assuming you're in your early 20s at the most)
If it's diamonds you're after, buy her a pair of nice diamond studs. They go with everything! My first diamonds were a pair of round cut stud earrings that I got from my now-husband for my birthday. I wear them all the time and don't take them out.
If you want something that looks like diamonds but is more affordable, check out moisannite from JC Penney.

I bought a ring online a few years ago and it looked beautiful, but I had it appraised and when magnified all of the diamonds where chipped and broken - super cheap! So, what I would say is, if you're just in it for looks, go for it (or better yet, get a fake diamond). If you want something with value, you're better off looking around at wholesale jewelry stores.
P.S. - I got my ring at overstock.com, if you want to look there for some beautiful (but possibly damaged) real diamonds.

Jeepers, creepers. That ring is HIDEOUS! I would be speechless from the utter disgust if I got that!
My engagement ring was chosen by ME and I chose one that was only about $500!!!
BTW, there is NO way on earth that a ring that is that price has any thing of any value... you're probably going to end up with diamond chips and brittle gold....I would recommend saving your pennies and buying one that SHE likes.

Please, for your sake, don't buy her that ring. Seriously, learn about diamonds and carats at a jewelry store before you make a purchase. The rings that Bronwen posted from Zales (a real jewelry store with CERTIFIED diamonds) are less expensive and way more beautiful!

I think it's amazingly wonderful that you want to get your girl a diamond ring. You say it's for her birthday, so I am assuming it's just a gift, and not something more serious like an engagement ring.
I hope this won't sound rude, but I don't like the ring at all. It's a cocktail ring, which is not really practical for everyday. Cocktail rings are designed to be big and showy and the stones are set to catch a lot of light, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good quality.
I know you've already sold body parts, so I am not suggesting anything more expensive, but I did a tiny bit of looking around, and I found some other rings that I thing are very nice. They aren't as showy, but they look like they would be a lot more practical for everyday wear. I have included links below:

I think some of those are especially beautiful, but then that's just my opinion. You will notice they are all set in white gold, and that's because I rarely see a younger woman these days wearing yellow gold. Naturally, you need to look at what your girl already has and loves, and use that as a guide--if she's a yellow gold girl, you should go with that instead of white.
None of the rings I have linked are 1 cttw, but they are good quality rings. The other one is one carat total, but there are a bunch of stones in there, so you know they are all tiny. Personally, for myself, I would rather have less diamonds, but better quality.
Anyway, that's just my silly opinion. I think the main thing to remember is that she will be excited to get whatever you get her--most women are excited to get jewelry from their sweethearts. It shows how much you love her, and I think that's the main thing, don't you?

no offense but that ring is tacky and out of date. I would go to a jewelry store where you can see the ring in person. Get her a ring that is classic that way she can wear it forever.

The ring is beautiful, any girl would love to have it. Listen guy as long as it comes from the heart, than there's nothing to worry about.
