I like them all in a way. Yorkie's though get sick easily and if you get them too young they can die. Plus they get gross looking when they are old. But they are so loving and loyal. Pekingese eyes pop out when they are under stress and that is a huge hassel. But who can't fall in love with them flat face cuties!? And pomeranians....they are loyal to one person but they can get and attitude (my mom owns 12 of them and he life revolves around them...no she doesn't breed them), and shih tzu's are perfect...but they are prone to upper respiratory problems but they are great with people of all ages (I have one and am getting another one in a few months).

Shih Tzu first then a yorkie...temperment mainly. Most pomeranians I have been around are very snippy..pekingese as well from the ones I know. From growing up with my mother raising Cockapoos...Im a converted Great Dane owner now so I am partial to big dogs myself.

I would take the Yorkie because I don't like "yap yap dogs." My neighbor had a shih tzu that about drove all of the neighbors crazy. Yorkies have a nice temperament and are cuter than pekingese. I don't know much about pomeranians.

I prefer a shih tzu. I have a 2 year old male shih tzu and he is absolutely wonderful with my kids. They are 6, 1, and 3 months old. My 1 year old and my dog play together all the time.

none of the above. I like bigger dogs they seem to mellow and want cuddle more. I've had 3 dogs, shih tzu (very attention demanding and sometime too smart. it takes to lot keep them groomed. ended up re-homing him with an older couple who's shih tzu had passed), shell-tee (very good and loved him to dead but it was a lot work to keep him groomed at least an hour every day. whom passed a way do to old age) now i have pit mastiff mix for whom i love very much. he is over 75 lbs and a great member of our family. dogs are great the so like kids but they never become teens or ask to drive the car. lol

Well, I like bigger dogs like Great Pyrenees and Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Chows, but Mutts are my favorite! I think Yorkies are the cutest of the four that you referenced. Why do you ask? If you are looking to get a dog I would STRONGLY suggest adopting one from the pound. Pound puppies are so loyal. It's like they KNOW you rescued them! My husband and I have cats, but my mom has three rescue dogs (They just happen to be the three breeds I said I liked, funny huh?) and they are the best dogs ever. I think it is so much better to save a dog then to buy one from a breeder! There are too many pups without homes. I think breeders should feel kind of bad bringing more pups into the world when so many need homes. If you're going to breed I think it should be a law that you have to adopt at least one dog from the pound! That's just my opinion though! Sorry to blab on....Have fun!

Pekingese because they're just so damned adorable. Pomeranains are yippy, as are yorkies. And I never really could fall for any shitzu without naming him Mop or something. I was actually looking at a pekingese, but I went with a papilion instead.

Yorkshire terriers are adorable small dogs too there was this one I found that could fit in the palm of my hand. I was petting him through his rabbits cage and i got him to roll onto his back so I could rub his belly. His leg was twitching like crazy! I wanted him so badly.. but I didn't have any disposable cash considering it was around Christmas! :(

They are all good choices but personally I would go for a mighty Shih Tzu. Whichever breed you choose make sure you buy your puppy from a reputable breeder, socialize him/her properly and train him.

Good luck!

None of the above. I'd prefer a pound dog/mixed breed, preferrable something with short hair (easy maintenance.. can run in the dry summer without picking up burrs in her fur as well as the rain and not worry about a tangled mass of mud in her fur.) One of my favorite dogs is a Maltapoo (a maltese and poodle mix.. very cute when kept groomed and it has a very big dog attitude)!

I think that you should do research and that you should maybe go to a dog show and look at the different breeds. I have dachshunds and i show them. I would not get one from a puppy mill because I know that they just breed for money we got one from there and it has major problems. I don't think you want that you want something that you can play he doesn't want to do anything. But if i had your choices i would get a Pomeranian. They are so frienly and they are fun to play with.
