we've had her since she was old enough to wean, a (now 3lb.) chihuahua named Zoe. She is VERY sociable, but for some reason when we (ahem) get close, she insists on wedging herself between us and licking our faces. i dont want to have to lock her out of the room just to cuddle up and make out. why is she acting this way? what can i do? Has anyone ever experienced this?

My dog has sex radar.
Whenever my wife and I try to be intimate the dog will insist on being on the bed with us. He's a black lab that is 105lbs. No small problem.
He could be in a sound sleep downstairs in his crate but as soon as we so much as start kissing he's right there in our faces.
If we try locking him out of the room he cries at the door till we are finished or till we let him in.

I have no answer for you but at least you know you are not alone when it comes to jealous dogs.

canines are very smooth to their territories, as you moved in after the canines the canines may even see you as an outsider. that's purely conventional canines instincts also it would want to sense that it doesnt get the interest it used too. if you're high-quality to the canines and delivers it interest im particular it is going to stumble on the thanks to settle for you. also you've to teach it that you're the boss, dont let it walk over you ie sit down on your seat. WIth an organization voice tell it to get off the seat everntually it is going to study its position and each and everything must be ok.

Chihuahuas are very territorial compared to other dogs, and they are very 1 person kind of dogs, devoted to only one person, not the best family dog- I would say.

your dog gets jealous because she thinks you love him more than her so she won't like him and Chihuahuas aren't good with strangers.
