one word......FEAR. FEAR of not knowing what happens when you die. FEAR of going to hell. FEAR of not going to heaven. FEAR is the single greatest tool of bible based faith.

I believe in this real thing called "right" and "wrong." I think most of us do ... both believers and non-believers in God. We may not always agree on just what is "right" or just what is "wrong" but the principle is real. I have this idea in my head that I should behave in a certain way. The problem is I do not in fact behave that way. For example: I see someone in need ... someone who needs help and I know that I should help them ... but I don't want to. So where do I get this feeling that I ought to help whether I want to or not? Where did this reality of right and wrong come from if it is not consistently present in human behavior? Even though I don't always do what is "right" ... why do I expect everyone else to do "the right thing?" It's not a fact like gravity or the speed of light but somehow its still there.
Its been said here that you can witness the handiwork of God by observing the universe. This is true but God is not in the facts of the universe anymore than a builder is in the wall of a house.
So now I have this feeling that I should behave in a certain way and it often goes against my instincts and desires to do so and I or no human I know of invented this reality of right and wrong. So I conclude that there is a power ... an intelligence if you will ... behind this reality that seems to be concerned with how we treat each other but has given us the freedom to choose to obey or break this moral law we did not invent.

In the final analysis, science cannot answer the single basic question - how did we get here? We are offered theories, like the Big Bang. But then, where did the Big Bang come from? How did it happen? What was there before the Big Bang? Science will never be able to answer this type of question. The only explanation is that there must be something, call it God, that created the universe and put us in it.

Because I've been protected against serious harm for no reason.
OK. You light a stick of dynamite and it explodes almost instantly and your hands are intact, your hearing is intact and you have no physical harm to your body, but the stick was in your hands when it exploded.
Do you chaulk that off to LUCK. Science says the odds of that are a trillion to one.
You should have no hand, your ear drums should be seriously injured and your should have wounds to your upper body.
I survived something much like that with nothing. No problems. I play guitar, bass and keyboards.
Now. You can call that LUCK or you can call that INTERVENTION.
I, have to THANK something or someone for that miracle.
Maybe you don't think you need to THANK someone.
I don't have that much conceit.

I believe our religion is based on faith in Jesus Christ, what more can I say. People read the Bible because we believe it to be the truth. If us Christians have no faith in Christ, we are then waisting our time. God has shone Himself in nature so man is without excuse, I believe that. I hope this is useful to you. because I saw Him alive and real in my best friend and brother long before I chose Him. I also felt Him calling me a couple of time before I accepted Him.

To be realistic in answering your question I know I did not make myself and there has to be a creator and that makes me believe.

He has given me a love that I can never fathom or understand. I don't deserve it, but because of his infinite grace and mercy, He has poured out His love over me.
