If you're having a problem with a tooth, why are seeing a doctor and not a dentist? Dentists can prescribe pain meds, too, and s/he will prescribe an APPROPRIATE med, as well as take care of your teeth.

Percocet is a heavy-duty pain med. If you were having a root canal, it might be prescribed for pain, or you might be prescribed a less powerful pain med. But the idea isn't to get rid of your pain but to get it down to the point where you can continue to function.

I have multiple types of arthritis and as a result I am a chronic pain patient. Percocet is my primary pain med, but using it for a tooth problem is overkill.

I have read your additional details, and it doesn't change a syllable of my response.

If you have any doctor that gives you it without a full and complete evaluation then its time to get a new doctor. If your asking this question because you are hooked on the stuff. You need to visit somewhere else. Its called REHAB.

P.S. When you asked the initial question you had no additional details. It was a nice try by adding that when you did not get someone giving you an exact location of who to contact for the drug you are addicted to.

How? You tell him why you need it. He decides if you do. He writes a srip. Percocet is very powerful and odds are you are not getting it just by asking. Doctors are hip to drug seekers and hesitate to over perscribe pain meds. They'll often start with tylenol or motrin for non specific, non surgical pain, especially if they don't know you.

It might already be too late!
This is a prize-winning inquiry.
The real question is not "how" but WHY.
Usually Percocet is precribed by writing on a printed prescription with a pen.
Occasionally it's for good reasons.

oh you are the sounding like the first class drug seeker that calls in.....first thing they tell is I am allergic to or can't take...or won't work a whole list of drugs.....but fail to list the ONE drug they are actually seeking..red flag
Drug seeking and doctor shopping has gotten to be such a problem that we no longer accept new "pain only patients"..we refer them to a pain clinic, specialist, or communicare for rehab....we just not going to supply their weekend fixes
as for "toothache" heard that too...or long ago surgery, "think" I have kidney stones.....you can't imagine what they come up with

This is used mostly for strong pain, like after a surgery or sumthing.
Anything other than that, I think is a druggy addiction.

If you are in serious pain.

If you want it for recrational use, just know, that it's not that special. It's just tylenol with a little tiny bit of narcotic... it might make you sleepy, but that's it.

It might be prescribed if you need it for pain control, such as for the pain of cancer or some other disease.
