There is no specific treatment or cure for mumps. Mumps are caused by a virus. The illness will get better on its own. You treat the symptoms to make the person feel better. These links should help.

IN GENERAL one would not attempt an actual cure.
IN most viral diseases they are benign and run their course.
There may be unuusal circumstance or complications -- or secondary infections, etc., which may require specific treatments. Those are rare.
Overall it's symptomatic, rest, and take it easy.
HOWEVER, since you asked, MUMPS PAROTITIS or ORCHITIS or ENCEPHALITIS or PNEUMONIA , all being rare, much less than 1/600 cases would have to be differentiated from the more common causes.

You can't cure them...you can only relieve the symptoms, usually pain on one or both sides of your neck and fever. Tylenol or Advil should help. The mumps just have to run their course.

It's a viral disease - there is no cure. But it will be over in a week or so.
BTW, I haven't heard of anyone getting mumps in decades. Nearly every baby is vaccinated for it (part of the MMP triple vaccine) and even if you aren't vaccinated, who are you going to catch it from if 99% of the population IS vaccinated.

Here's a blurb from Reference.com:
Treatment consists mainly of bed rest, intake of fluids, and the administration of analgesics. A live virus vaccine has been developed that can be given to susceptible children at 15 months.

You can't. It is a virus and once you have it you have to just let it run its course. You can prevent mumps by vaccination, but once you have it, there is no medication that will get rid of it, only rest and time.
