Demi Moore was really cute in that movie. Pottery is fun, sometimes.

Well, born-n-raised athiest here, and I no more believe in ghosts than I do god, thor, alien abduction, esp, djinni, reincarnation, astral projection, kundalini, or annubis. Whatever. Tantric sex is real,I can vouch for that one. Otherwise I only believe things I can personally understand and can't shoot holes in the proof. I took an intro to philosophy class dealing largely with proofs of god's existance and, as a punk-sass 18-year-old, was able to annihilate my deeply religious teacher, a doctorate in philosophy who's spent his life studying this isht, in any argument, in about two minutes.

Where does the light go when you blow the candle out? We are energy, and cut the source of that energy and it's the same as pulling the power supply out of your computer. Whaddaya got left after that? A bunch of plastic and metal. Or, in our case, a bunch of carbon and water. Can I tell you what that self-sustaining spark that differentiates life from rocks is? No. But nobody understands dick about the brain yet. Give it 20 years; I bet the whole 'soul' thing will be resolved by science. Have faith, people. Faith in your fellow man, not some invisible guy in a disneyland in the clouds.

no no No No NO NO

(to give you a basic idea)

-------------------------------------------------
ghost:
1 : the seat of life or intelligence : SOUL
2 : a disembodied soul; especially : the soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness

You can't believe in this and be an atheist. I'm not saying it is bad to believe in this, but you can't call yourself an atheist and truly understand what that term means.

I believe that there is a better chance that there are ghosts than there is a god.
Of course I believe in reincarnation too, but that isn't a religion.

Sure..usually they are manifestations of an unknown energy that persist especially if they have had a particularly violent demise. Most souls hang about for about a day then beat it..to where I do not know...I guess we will have to wait and see.

I believe that the phenomenon exists -- that the people who claim to see figures, and aren't lying or hallucinating, are actually seeing those figures. But I'm also pretty convinced that there is an as-yet-undiscovered scientific explanation for those occurrences.
