Hunter is commonly know as "Hunter/Jumper"...and that is English riding. In Western riding (instructors won't teach you how to jump). If you're a bit afraid of jumping...don't worry. Your instructor will teach you the basics first before even getting into that. (such as turning, cantering, etc).

I hope this helps!

Yeah I hate it whilst human beings do this too. some persons are down precise ignorant whilst it comprises driving disciplines. neither is harder than the different. there's a sparkling decrease line between the disciplines yet that does no longer advise which you and your horse can no longer circulate that line any time you please. English is traditionally finished in an english saddle, there are various categories, and is often finished with direct reining. there are various stuff approximately english driving that contain the region of the rider and the physique of the pony that are troublesome for the two the pony and rider. some styles of activities or activities you may even see in this self-discipline are hunter, jumper, dressage, polo, eventing, persistence and so on. Western is traditionally finished in one among many diverse sorts of western saddles and may well be finished with neck reining or direct reining. this sort of driving replaced into initially finished, and remains finished, on livestock operations. The saddles and horses have been designed to be soft and something you sit down in all day. some styles of activities or activities you may even see in western are aggressive path, roping, reining, working cow horse, fastened shooting, as properly because of the fact the super horse race (which includes leaping logs), penning, reducing, and an excellent sort of others as properly. the two disciplines require very a brilliant number of horsemanship and skill. some activities could be greater troublesome than others. you does no longer assume to work out maximum reining cow horses bounce a 5ft wall yet nonetheless maximum dressage horses does no longer understand a thank you to decrease a calf from a herd if its existence depended on it. one among my prominent new activities is termed the super horse race and it replaced into created with tips from Craig Cameron. Horses are required to hop over issues, decrease cows, bounce up and down hills, and bypass by way of water and all young infants of alternative issues. The direction is often diverse and the pony and rider the two must be very versatile and especially experienced. What you chosen to do with your horse is your determination. Your horse could properly be something you choose it to be and much horses are experienced in the two disciplines. Sounds to me such as you have a competent all around exhilaration horse. So whilst somebody asks you what self-discipline you journey i might tell them that it relies upon on your temper and that i does no longer concern plenty greater approximately it. all and sundry is entitled to their very own opinion no remember how stupid it is.
