As long as your keeping an eye on her she should be okay to handle crayons and playdoh. I'd let my daughter use finger paints around that age. I'd put smocks on both of us and I'd make sure to hold her arms so she wasn't to messy, but be prepared to clean up! I saw this thing on tv were they'd use cold cooked spagetti noodles and let toddlers play away with them. They would put a small tarp on the floor, put the baby in a diaper and put a pile of noodles in front of her. They said anything with texture is good, such as velcro, noodles, anything safe to swallow or too big to choke on. ~My daughter didn't want a chair of her own till about 18m or so. As far as dolls, she's 4 and more interested in dress up things than dolls. she has her favorite doll she'll play with on occasion though. she likes holding the life like hair on her doll while she falls asleep. She also seems to favor the ones that look like her. Her father recently gave her a new baby sis so I gave her a baby doll. she'll wash her doll, cloth her and put a diaper on her while they do the same to there new baby. We also bring our doll shopping, if she sets in the cart like a good girl so does my daughter.

My daughter began using crayons - although sometimes she tried to eat them - sometime around 18 mos. She is now 2, will be 3 at the end of this month. We have been using playdoh since she was a little into the 2's, and babys is HUGE in my house now, and has been for about 6 months. Sitting in a chair happened around 18 mos - but not for long. Now, she will sit in a chair and watch Spongebob, movies, etc. Its great - it will all come soooooo fast! Have fun and enjoy every minute of it!

at about 1 1/2 or 2 I would say because my son is 1 1/2 now and he is just now 18 months and he uses crayons and sits in little chairs on his own and yes even playes with dalls. The fingerpaints I would have to say maybe closer to 2 or 3 years old but really you will just have to see every child develops and starts to do things at diffrent ages. Trust me just enjoy this time with you because once they want independence you are going to wish they would want to come back more often.

As long as you supervise her she should be ok with crayons finger paints and playdoh. My daughter has been playing with stuff like that since she was about a year old. You can get baby smocks in just about any department store. (walmart, target, etc.) As for the dolls, my daughter started getting interested in them around eight months. Good luck and have lots of fun with your little one!

if you're concerned about using the paints or crayons because she may put them in her mouth, a good alternative that uses the same process as fingerpaints is to just sit with her at a table and spray a bunch of whipped cream on the table and let her go nuts! that way if her hand goes in her mouth it is totally fine. HAVE FUN!

If you are supervising she can do much of that now. I started doing crafts with my kids when they were very young. The problem with children your daughter's age is that they like to put everything in their mouths. Something I used to do is take vanilla pudding and color it with food coloring. Then I'd put my son in his high chair with painting paper. I'd show him how to finger paint and make designs and I'd let him do it to. With the pudding it is no big deal if she wants to eat it while she paints. My kids loved doing this. You can also make edible playdoh. I can't find my recipe but I'm sure you could google it. I let my kids use crayons at that age but I had to make sure I was with them the entire time. They WILL attempt to eat them. But they'll also try to color and they'll love it.
