Last year I started Cosmetology school and I was 29. I went in thinking I was gonna be the oldest and among kids. The people in there are average my age, there are a few right out of high school. I love it, If I can do this, anybody can!!! Good luck and DON"T give up!! I will be graduating this summer.

You should go for it. My friend went to a high-end cosmetology school and there were people in age ranging from 17 to 50. 29 is definitely not too old to start a new career. Cosmetology schools are usually only a year or two long anyway. You should set up an apointment to look at the schools you're interested in, that way you can get a better feel of what it would be like.
Good luck.

Go for it, I'm 27, I quit my job and just started going to law school, I will be done when I am 30. I have classmates that are 21 and classmates that are 40. Sometimes it is a little disconcerting however I figure the only time I am going to stop reaching for my goals is when I am dead, then I will be too old for success. Good Luck!

If this is really what you want to do and are willing to put in the time and effort to make the commitment and learn the craft, you can do anything you want to do. Except for rare instances, it's not a lucrative career, and if that's what you're looking for, perhaps it's not for you.
It's never too late if it is really what you want to do. Why don't you talk to a few stylists at various salons you are not familiar with, ranging from SuperCuts (mall volume stores) to pricey upscale salons and see how they like their profession and if they have any tips for you. It's never too late to have another career or learn another skill.
Good luck!

My goodness! I have a friend who is in her late forties and went to cosmetology school two years ago, age, my dear, is irrelevant unless you make it so!! You can succeed if it is what you want to do...If you don't know as much as you thought, then you're at the right place to change that....go for it...Good Luck
