The book of Job is one of the most telling of all. ALot of non-beleivers dismiss beleif in God as a belief in a tyrant or punisher, but the book of Job seems to clarify alot of those accusations. Job went through hell and received the kingdom. He went through a horrible tribulation and when it was all said and done he received 10 times more than what he had. Is that not the same as overall righteousness? those that accuse it all as a harsh experiment and so on, do not realize that the outcome willbe grand? It almost as Job is not a real person but our lives today or in the end time. Is that accurate or do you have a different spin on it? thanks!

God allows suffering because the end result will be bliss. true? ok, so why the suffering?.....well, why did Job go through that? the devil was dismissed on that one, I suppose.

nicholas, I do not know where you get your knowledge or logic, but that has nothing to do with what I am saying. Job knew there was a God, that ethiopian boy does not. He will, as the scriptures state, be given a chance. There is a good chance benny hinn may fry, thats another story. Please make an effort to try and understand what I am saying. this question is for christians to answer, anyway.

God did not kill Jobs family. Satan did, but that is a good point anyway.

It's not okay for God to kill Jobs whole family to prove to Satan that he's loyal as long as he gives him more later. What about his wife and kids? What makes it okay for God to have killed them?

Would it be okay for a mother to beat her child as long as she took her on a shopping spree after?

Job went through his trial because satan first accused him before God. God simply had confidence in Job and told satan to give it his best shot. Of course satan failed, just like God said he would. Not everything God does is for the benefits of humans. There is a great spiritual battle happening and sometimes God involves us for His glory. I for one am proud to be used by God in any way He chooses. God used Job to prove a point to satan, the same point he showed satan when Jesus was in the desert with him being tempted for 40 days and nights. Satan keeps thinking he can thwart Gods plan. God graciously tells him, "OK GIVE IT A SHOT" I only wish that I could be as righteous as Job, so that satan would acknowledge me before God.
That says alot about who Job was.

God killed Job's children to win a bet. That is the point of the Job story. Job was rewarded with earthly wealth because the writters of the story (ancient Jews) did not believe in heaven.

your point is invalid from the standpoint that not everyone goes through the same amount of pain. Do you really feel that someone like Benny Hinn who has millions of dollars and lives a life of luxury has ever had to endure the same type of "test" that a starving child in Ethiopia who dies at age 7 without ever hearing the name Jesus has to endure? If God made this life as a test, then he failed miserably by making the testing process completely unequal.

.The trying of our faith brings about patience and strengthens our faith. But allot of the time the duration of the trial depends on the confidence we have in God to begin with. Confidence is a catalyze, the more confidence the faster and stronger the reaction. God does not tempt. Job went through what he did because he had fear of loosing everything that was dear to him.

(Job 3:25) For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

(James 1:13) Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

(James 1:14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

I've lost alot of things myself, but getting them back 10 fold doesn't seem to happen to me, or anyone else I know. Job got it all back in his lifetime. Why not everyone?
