He doesn't have to, he's in charge of the military and he can do with it what ever he pleases as long as it's not illegal. You might say that the war in Iraq is illegal, but unless the Constitution specifically says he can't do it, he can. This is why Congress is only taking a symbolic vote about whether or not the President should do this. I guess what I'm trying to say is this is not undemocratic, regardless of how you feel about it.

He is the Commander in Chief.
The House & Senate voted nearly unanimously (with only one dissenting) for the war.
He can increase troops if he wants to.
He doesn't need the vote of people who have no idea what is going on in Iraq, and who have no military experience.
He doesn't need to disclose exactly what is going on because
A. It's classified - we don't want the enemy knowing our exact plans and
B. It isn't open to discussion.

I would agree that all women and men should be drafted, especially women too who fought to earn the rights to be in the war in the first place. I do not agree with what that idiot is doing in the white house, but someone needs to take control with this war.

I think the draft should be reinstated. Or better yet, mandatory military service for all (women included) between the ages of 18-24.

A overwhelming majority of military leaders and members of his inner circle all have advised against sending more troops to Iraq. Just who does GWB think he is, GOD? The man just won't admit he was wrong and he continues to lie about his war to the American public.

Yep, you are right.

I think people need a 'war cry'. It doesn't have to be accurate, just something that will rally people together. Basically, they are saying, 'hey, you aren't doing what the majority of people want.'
