I guess I am asking is there too much water over the bridge for Bush to win back the American people?

Bush will never win back the American people. The only thing this will accomplish will be more dead American GI's. He took the fight to the wrong country. He was trying to prove a point to his daddy. It didn't work and now he is stuck. Saddam was most definitely an evil man but he had nothing to do with 9/11. We had him under control. He had no WMD. His air force was made up of old Russian and American relics from years gone by. We controlled the North & South of Iraq. If he blew is nose we knew about it. George Bush is a moron!

You know, it's hard to define what exactly "Victory in Iraq" is meant to look like... That's why President Bush's surge idea realy doesn't sit well... If he just made up a definition of what this victory needs to be, I think the troops could accomplish it. Being right isn't the point. Achieving a goal is, I think.

Eliminating terrorism is impossible, though. Or do we forget Timothy McVeigh? (Home-grown "terrorist".)

Just looking at the situation we've got ourselves into out there makes me feel very strange about our country's acceptance of this war. It's too vague and uncertain....

The original mission was to go into Iraq and remove any weapons of mass destruction (never found), as well as remove Sadaam Hussein from power. Both missions accomplished. We need to get the heck out of there now... it's a mistake to stay. Additional American troops are not going to solve another country's civil war problem.

If we are too win the war in Iraq it's the only solution that would make any kind of sense. People wanted a solution and he came up with one!! He can not go back and erase the mistakes made. The only thing that can happen now is to move forward. It would be wonderful to come out with a win. However it's not for me or you to decided it's up to congress and the whitehouse.

Some people are too stubborn, no matter what Bush does they will be against him(liberals). Every American should be happy with a victory in Iraq.

And what is he isnt right... He is going to do what ever he wants to do. No matter what the american public says... he dont care who lives or dies in Iraq.. He needs to have his daughter enlist and then see how it feels to send a loved one over there. He would have a different aspect in the war and sending more troops..

I think he will move the troops in and before he is out of office he will claim victory and bring most the troops home and the violence will return but will be covered in the media by the elections.

Right or not if we don't win we are screwed.Think about $200 a barrel oil if we leave now and let Iran roll in and take over via their buddy Al-Sader.
