Combination of things. I like to think in computer terms, it's a good reality model to work with. I like to think of the brain as the computer, and the soul is the software running on that computer. Emotions would be the softwares interpretation of the response of the hardware to stimulus.

our feelings come from our heart and i dont mean that in a mushy way
but our heart has a brain ( new scientific discovery )
the thinking heart i think the research is called
and our heart reacts quicker than our brain in certain cases .. such as intuition and emotion
quite interesting stuff , you should look it up because it will stop you sleeping for ages lol
