Seriously....a cheap fast trick is to put toothpaste on the zit. It dries it out within a day or two.

Depends because most people use proactiv, but if your like me those kind of products make it worse because i'm allergic to whats in them. Try accutane, it may be expensive but it works. It's a pill that will dry up your skin along with the pimples and my pimples have been gone for 4 years now not one (including a small one) has come on my body. Sadly the affects are liver damage, depression, and a lot more. But they never really occur, and washing your face does help it has nothing to do with you getting pimples. Pimples come from the inside usually the people with pimples have to much oil in their skin.

I follow a daily routine of drinking a warm cup of water mixed with a spoonful of honey. It cleanses your system and I find it helpful in maintaining clear skin.
If you have the occasional breakout, you could use the "ice treatment". Usually, when a zit is about to form, you'd see redness and it'd feel funny and all. So, take and place an ice-cube on it for a few minutes. Do not use toothpaste as it can be irritating to the skin.
Alternatively, you can squeeze a lemon into a bowl and dilute a little water in it. Mix well and apply a layer of the concoction on face with a cotton pad and leave for 10 minutes and rinse. But do test the "strength" of the mixture because too much lemon juice and too little water can irritate your skin. Test the mixture on your jaw first and if you're okay with the tingling, go ahead. If not, add more water.

Proactive is the best over the counter treatment for acne, according to my dermatologist. If you do not want to use proactive, you should only wash your face with an antibacterial soap such as dial at least twice a day. Avoid using soaps with moisturizers in them as they will clog your pores. Also, avoid eating foods with tomatoes and chocolate as they contribute to acne. If this still doesn't work, I would visit a dermatologist and get either a prescription topical cream or antibiotic.

Acne is a result of hormonal changes during puberty and usually right before your period, which increase your skin's output of oil and is minimally related to the foods that you eat. (New findings show that foods containing white flour, potatoes and sugar raise the blood's insulin levels and testosterone levels also rise, promoting acne. Foods such as fruits and veggies will help keep insulin low and skin clear.)
Care: Try gently washing your face gently with antibacterial soap several times each day. Don't rub hard. And try using a skin cream, such as Noxzema, to help keep skin dry. Hopefully you will get rid of the excess oils.

washing your face with cleansers for your appropriate skin type( ex. oily, dry and flacky, etc.) can really help if you do it twice a day. Also try not to touch your face as much, because the oil from your hands makes your face so oily. The last thing that can make all the difference is drinking water.... and only water. Not only is this healty, but it realy helped claer up my skin.Hope all this works. peas out.
