Where's your evidence that he lived in an unholy manner?
He was a Prophet whom God sent for the guidance of humankind. Only those who wish to search for Truth and peace can find that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was real and a good man after all.
-- His first wife was 15 yrs older than he was; she admired his honesty and modesty SO MUCH that she proposed to him for marriage, and he accepted. He was a merchant, and it's not very easy to be an honest merchant.
-- He taught people to forgive others and to be kind to each other under every condition.
-- There was a woman during his time who hated his guts for absolutely no logical reason. Every time he'd be walking by on the street, she'd throw out her garbage over his head from the top of her house! But he'd simply ignore. This one day he was walking by, but the woman didn't throw anything over him, and he wondered why. When he asked others if the woman was okay and all, he found out that she was sick. You know what he did after finding out that she was sick? He went and visited her and prayed for her.
-- When he'd be sitting down somewhere or passing by the funeral of some non-Muslim, he'd stand up in respect for the dead and even join in the walk during the funeral. He taught his followers to do the same.
-- A man came to him once, telling him that he (the man) lies, cheats, drinks, and does many other such things; he asked Muhammad (pbuh) to suggest something that'll make him stop all this. Muhammad (pbuh) immediately told him to stop lying; once you stop lying, it's very easy to gradually stop the other sins as well.
-- He taught people to respect their neighbors and guests more than anything and to have good relations with them, whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims.
-- When it comes to women, he taught:
"Fear Allah (God) regarding women. Verily you have married them with the trust of Allah, and made their bodies lawful with the word of Allah. You have got (rights) over them, and they have got (rights) over you in respect of their food and clothing according to your means."
He also taught:
"Among my followers, the best of men are those who are best to their wives, and the best of women are those who are best to their husbands. To each of such women is set down a reward equivalent to the reward of a thousand martyrs. Among my followers, again, the best of women are those who assist their husbands in their work, and love them dearly for everything, save what is a transgression of Allah's laws."

If the above points aren't holy, then I don't know what is.
And a Muslim who knows Islam really, really well would never leave Islam becaue it's nothing but the Truth. If you really were an educated Muslim once upon a time, you woudln't be a non-Muslim now. I pity no one more than I pity you and your ignorant lies. May God guide you to His Truth!

Peace and blessings be upon everyone!

Unholy manner?? first of all, we do not have " men of god " in islam, and those are ignorant Muslims who call him that. Mohammed ( peace be upon him) is a prophet sent by god to guide people to the correct path. I'm sorry you rejected Islam, u might have faced extremists who chased you away, but just try and know the true Islam :)

If the questioner is stating a fact, then there is no need to get offended at anyone. People who don't like a certain question can simply ignore it. To answer this question, what was the history of Apostle Paul? The point is, God has the capacity to forgive everyone. In addition, humans are given free will to follow or not any religion they like. A true religion is one that teaches forgiveness, love, compassion, peace, and all other good values. You are expected to even love your enemies. Were these the teachings of Prophet Mohammed?

Islam was founded by Muhammad who is an interesting character. He started his career by robbing caravans. He was a thief turned prophet. He was a charismatic leader who was able to unite the religions in the area into one religion through his creation of the Quaran that borrowed bits and pieces from other scriptures such as the Bible's old and new testaments. For example, Jesus is cited in the Quaran as just a prophet as well as the Apostles being referenced. Muhammad gained power by conquering his neighbors and subjugating them to Islam. His teachings are to subjugate those of non-Islamic faith "Infidels" by converting them to Islam or pay a retribution and be under the rule of Islam if not converted. These Islam rules apply to Muslims today and there is a sizable minority of several million who subscribe to the bloody, aggressive religious theology of subjugation. All of the major wars today are with Islamic groups. Islam is the largest enemy that the west faces today and you can be assured that more battles will be fought by the US and west against radical Islam.

how did you figure that Prophet Muhammad lived his life in an unholy manner? get your facts together before you ask such a question. You have the right to believe in which ever religion you wish just don't post negative statements that are no where near factual.

The religion has been passed down for many generations. I'm sure that people did have valid reasons to believe- and still do.

Because they see him as a prophet who stood up for what he believed.

By the Lord's standards, that is not good enough for admission to get into Heaven.
