Since you are underage, anyone could, including the state, bring charges of statutory rape against him. Get married. Then it's legal.

For the people who wrote that you have to be 16 and under, or 17 and under for it to be considered statutory rape, that's true in many states. HOWEVER, along with those laws, if there is an age difference of more than 3 years and the younger party is not legally an adult, it's still satutory rape.
So... illegal and a really bad idea. Get a job. Go to school. Learn how to live on your own... so you can have something to offer a man besides hero worship. that wears real thin, real fast.

Wait another year if you must "shack Up" you'll be 18 then it will be perfectly legal but are you sure you want to do that? You're young try having your own apartment and experience living alone before you try to live with someone else. There is nothing like having your own place. Just think if you break up you either have to move back home or get your own place so why not just get your own place and take turns spending the night at each other's place. It gives you privacy and space not only that but it keeps the relationship new and alive. Don't shack up be independant get your own!

Yes. Your boyfriend could be charged with both statuatory rape and, if either the district attorney in your area or your parents wanted to, charged with kidnapping as well since your parents have custody over you until you turn 18.
Your best bet is to wait it out until you turn 18. If you really couldn't wait, you could try to get emancipated, but that involves either marriage, enlisting in the military or showing financial independence, and since you're only a year off I personally don't think that'd be worth it; but that option is there for the taking.

Yes, illegal. not a good idea. You are so young....this is not worth upsetting your family over. Why can you only see him if you move in with him? That seems odd. Weather you live with him or not though, he is of age and you are not so that may be a problem in itself. Trust me, if this is meant to be it should all work out with you still living at home, it may take some time, but I would not rish leaving your home for a guy, not at 17.

Yes as long as you are under 18 you can not legally move in with him without your parents permission. Only if you become emancipated which would mean your parents would no longer have to pay for anything of yours at all unless they wanted to. You also have to appear in court in front of a judge to do that. Its only one more year until you are 18 so hang in there.

YES, he would get in some BIG trouble without parents approval. 17 is way to young and most times when it comes to boys parents are right. Think, wisdom, they have seen a lot. You are young don't screw it up, by playing house. Just wait.

unfortantely the answer is yes! majority of the states if not all of the require you to be 18 years or older with out the consent of your parents. if your parents wanted to they could call the police to have you removed from there because you are still under their supervision till the age of 18. if your birthday isn't to far away just wait it out. good luck.

it's different in different states...in some states, the legal age of adulthood is 17, some it's 18.
you should check the laws before making any rash decisions because you're boyfriend could end up in prison if you piss your parents off enough.
