I think people who almost hope for the 'end of times', are the most scary people I've ever met.
Why on earth do we give these people the right to vote? It's not like they care for our planet anyway. I'd like to leave this planet behind someday a little better than I found it at birth. Just for my future children.
By the way, thanks for the marriage proposal, I'm flattered. Technically I'm engaged, but, oh well.. :p
One of the above answers said something like "How pathetic, a non-believer using the Bible to make a point" ...Sigh! It made me ask this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070112195206AA85y3t&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHwIrJgEuo4Q8gyvxB4TABTBZcZKLu3kY6mMtBE8ZiDaLGcvjZIwyGo5zEt793uJ_j78Q--&paid=asked&msgr_status=

Ahh human nature. We all like to think that we will be there when the most exciting, dramatic events take place. We often can't conceive of something so influential unless it somehow involves us. I also wonder if some Christians use the "end times" threat to scare people into converting when they think the end might be well...nigh. Also, they feel a little bit silly every time they say the end is coming and it does not. It makes people lose faith in them, and they don't want to admit to being wrong (about anything) so they keep making another excuse for why the world didn't end THIS time...but it WILL SOON....right. The end of our planet could come anytime, but it takes a special kind of self-righteous egomaniac to claim they know when or what will happen. That's up to Mother Earth, God, or whatever you want to call the forces of nature. It always kills me to see how many Christians break their own commandment by pretending to be God.

I always have to wonder about people who say that. Apparently they have not actually read what the Bible says:
Matthew 24:6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mark 13:7: And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
Both times when "wars and rumors of wars" are mentioned, Jesus says that they are NOT a sign of the end. According to Jesus there is a different sign of "the end". "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and THEN shall the end come." Matthew 24:14.
So you are right - there has never been time when there were not wars and rumors of wars. That is why "the end" has not come. Will not come until the gospel has been preached everywhere. That has not yet happened - so "the end" has not yet come.

Rumors or war...... till now any war starts... rumors first are unfold. Rumors of a gang combat .. each and every so often precede the conflict itself. Daniel replaced into given wonderful revelatory tips touching directly to battles which might ensue for the period of guy's background. Revelation financial disaster 12, describes war from the commencing as much as practically the tip. Ezekiel talks of a war which happens after the properly commonplace Armegeddon war. even with prompt communications, war is a properly known rumor, too normally.

Christ has returned and taught clearly everything.
'End time' is end of old sins of ignorance, division, enmity...; 'new heaven and new earth' is the universal civilization which turns the world into 'the Kingdom of God on earth'. We believe this is the exact time because Christ has returned and great events successively occurred. Never in history we had so many global problems and so many wonderful solutions for them. More people will look for Christ to learn the renewed Message of the One True God.
Some people may ask: If Christ had come, why they don't know?
-Because unbelieving eyes cannot discern the Holy Spirit as with His first advent. Only true seekers can recognize His Divine Power in His early days.

Ever notice how vague all the biblical prophecies are? That is the nature of prophecy. It has to be vague enough that it can apply to any situation in any time frame, and must also appeal to the basic human fear of death, destruction, and war. Make a promise to gullible people that some horrible fate is going to occur in the future, and that the only way to escape it is to believe in XYZ, and you can be sure that they will believe in XYZ.

That reminds me a lot of Y2K. Everyone thought we were going to die.. but surprise, we didn't. We even had a half decent reason to think that the world would end. That is why anything that psychics or holy books have to say aren't taken seriously by intelligent people; good for you!

No body knows {when} so don't worry about
it. There are some pretty good signs, but
wars and rumors of wars will always be.
