No, Alex. We don't always get recognized for rescuing someone. I have rescued people stranded in the snow, or as in the Caribbean, trapped in a car in the middle of Hurricane Georges, for helping an US Citizen to return to America after being stranded abroad for 11 years, and under many different conditions. I was only recognized once.

But I didn't do it because I wanted to be recognized. I do it because I love helping people. That is the idea and the goal.

Well, I guess you are better than most people then. The truth is, most people would not put themselves in potential danger to save another's life. Worse still, many just prefer to avoid doing anything regardless if there is danger or not.

Kudos to you, and those who are not so selfish.
