My boyfriend believes the world is going to end. I'm guessing this is coming from his very religious side. What makes him think this? My grandmother is a nun in the third order and she thinks he's a bit overthinking it. She says there have been no "signs". Having lived through the depression and all of the good stuff, she's heard the "end days" thing before....so who do I believe?

There are plenty of signs. Rather than listen to anybody, read the gospels and see for yourself what Jesus said about the end times, then ask yourself the same question again.

Roman Catholics tend not to believe in the Great Tribulation. Many Protestant Christians such as myself believe that there will be a seven years period called the Great Tribulation. It's the one that some Christians go on about saying the the Rapture will take place just before that. According to Protestant theology, the Great Tribulation will not happen until after the Rapture. There will be seven years of the Great Tribulation, then after that, the Millenium, which lasts for one thousand years.

So in many Protestant teachings, the world will not end until after all this. During the Great Tribulation it might seem like the world is going to end, but as I said, it will not.

Now your boyfriend, if he is seriously in a relationship with God, what would he be worrying about? IF he REALLY believes in God, why would he have a hard time with ANYTHING?

If you can get him to answer those questions, then he will reveal to you how much he really trusts God, and how much he doesn't! ( ;

tuberoot above is all mixed up. Go to www.amazingfacts.org for the truth. That 7 year period occurred during Jesus' life and ended in AD34 at the stoning of Stephen and the Gospel was taken to the gentiles since the Jews rejected Christ. The secret rapture is not in the Bible. Christ is coming with a shout and trumpet sound and He will not set foot on the earth but every eye will see Him. There will be nothing secret about it. After Jesus comes He takes the saints from the earth back to heaven with Him and the earth lies desolate except for the devil and his angels while the redeemed of all ages live in heaven with Christ for 1000 years. For the Bible proof of all of this see www.amazingfacts.org. God Bless you.

Believe Gods Word to us. At no other time in history, has everything been in order so that one person could rule the world. Jesus says; no one knows the day or the hour, only God knows this for sure. But Jesus does give us signs to look for and tells us to be alert and keep watching for these signs. With todays modern technology, computers, satellites, global positioning satellites and last but not least the computer chip implants which are being used all around the world today. These are being implanted in pets, alzheimers patients, criminals, military personal - etc. These are fulfillments of the end of times foretold in the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation. There is much going on behind the scenes that most do not even hear about on televised news casts or in print. Such as all the nations borders are becoming more and more invisible due to global trading treaties. Many governments are joining together to form a single alliance. The Bible states that in the very last days, the old Roman Empire will be revived and will dominate the world. The book of Revelation clearly speaks of a 10 nation confederacy eventually dominating the world. This revived Roman Empire is the modern day E.U. (European Union)
One by one, the countries in the east are joining this confederacy that the Prophet John warned us about.
The book of Revelation also speaks of the 4 demon spirits bound by God at the river Euphrates being unleashed in the very end times. I believe this has already happened when the USA deposed Saddam Hussein. The Euphrates river runs right through Iraq. It is obvious by all the hate and bloodshed in this area of the world that something evil and supernatural is growing and becoming stronger day by day. Satan has his stronghold in this area of the world and he will not relinquish it without a fight. Because of liberal minded people in this country and a liberal minded press, the USA will withdraw from Iraq soon and will not continue to fight this evil oppressive power. God will judge this country for not continuing to fight this evil. I believe that this war in Iraq will make Americans weary of ever fighting in the middle east again. This would make sense with the prophets words that when the oppressers of Israel come against her (Armageddon) the rest of the world will state its displeasure with this, but will do nothing to help Israel. This is all a part of Gods plan however. God says He will come to Israel's aid and defend her, killing two thirds of the armies that come against her. Then God says that All Israel will see at at that time that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. They will repent of their unbelief and ALL Israel shall be saved. God wants the world to know that He alone saved Israel, not the USA or our allies. There has been no other time in history where all these prophetic signs come together. Most Theologians today are convinced that Christs return is imminent. Within the next 7 years or so, He will come to gather His church and then the anti-christ will be revealed. Then comes the 7 year tribulation and then comes Christs 1000 year reign on this earth. After that comes the judgment of all. All the pieces fit together, Christ will be returning very soon. The book of Revelation says that Whoever accepts the mark of the Beast will be lost for all eternity. This mark of the Beast (computer chip implants) is already in existence and being widely used today. This now paves the way for a one world dictator to track every movement and every financial transaction of every human being on this planet. The new super computers being built today can process 3 trillion bits of data per second. Nothing will be done without this mans approval. What will you do when given the choice of accepting this "Chip" or being beheaded? Accept Christ Jesus now and He will strengthen you so that in those days you will not be weak. No one who waits until the last second will be strong enough, spiritual speaking, to make God their choice. Most will reject God and submit to and worship the Beast.

A friend once shared that one of the most important messages in the Bible is to be concerned about what is happening today and not tomorrow. Nobody knows what is going to happen the next day. Worrying about that does not add an extra second to our short life. So we try to do good things today and watch its positive impact tomorrow.

Of course the world is going to end. The bible says it will, that one day there will be a new heaven and a new earth. People laugh at these warnings, but the book of Revelation tells of terrible things coming, but many will not believe it. A thoughtful person needs to consider these things that are foretold in the word of God.

We don't know when any of this will happen, it's called the Tribulation Period. Great plagues, earthquakes, etc. will come upon the earth. That is why it's so important to know Jesus as your savior. He is the only insurance against being lost forever.

All that being said, only God knows the day that all these things will come to pass.

Christians have been predicting the end of the world for 2,000 years. Haven't been right once. No reason to think they'll be right in the future either. It's paranoia. I'd dump the boyfriend. If he's that screwed up, you're headed for problems along with him.

Believe in you honey. Go out have a good time. The world will end when it ends. There is no need to think about it. And if your boyfriend is bumming you out you can come chill with me. We will sip champagne while I give you a massage with exotic oils. Let your man live for tomorrow, you and I can live for now.
