If a guy finds you unattractive because of braces, it says more about the guy than the braces. (Same goes for girls too!).
You are more than your braces, you are YOU, and that part is beautiful if you allow it to be, and the people who will see the real you will not be put off by anything such as braces, pimples, or a few extra pounds.
There are, unfortunately, some real cruel kids (and adults) out there who will be turned off by things like braces, who will make fun of it, but that is a sad fact of the world we live in today. See those people for the insecure people that they are, flash them a smile and move on with your life. There will be other people who will certainly see you for more than a person with braces.

In a psychological sense, a male might be turned off, but not consciously. I imagine it would be much like a pimple. If an animal has some sort of mark (like a pimple) the animal psyche will reason this to be a disease...and will not mate with that animal for that reason. however, if you have braces, you must be young and need not worry. And if the boys are worth anything, their psyche won't be the determining factor in whether you are attractive or not...it will be their actual emotions of you...who you are...not what you look like. And braces nowadays...a lot of people have them, and they are a lot smaller and more interesting and colorful. Shouldn't be a problem.

No and no in my opinion. On the contrary, I come across a good amount of girls who actually look great with braces on. The days where braces are these massive pieces of metal in your mouth are gone; braces nowadays are barely noticeable. And if you want to get technical, girls can look somewhat nerdy and be hot...not all of us guys want a girl who looks like a skank because we generally assume that the girl is what she looks like. Besides, think of it this way, if you take care of your teeth now then they'll look good the rest of your life.

Well, Im not a guy - but I know most guys don't notice details and my braces dont stick out... I mean lots of people after like 2 months say, 'Whoa, you have braces? I didn't know that...'
Ha, so some superficial guys may.

At the age you wear braces, what boys think is unimportant. When they come off , your smile will be beautiful. Then you will be glad.
Boys truthfully never give a second thought to a girl that wears braces.

Braces are deffinatley a downer because they just don't look good and get in the way of 'other things'. Nerdy isn't really true, but it deffinatley subtracts from what beauty she may have.

I just got my braces off but I thought I looked awkward and ugly. But the guys that I liked told me that they hardly even noticed them. So I don't think so, but it could depend on the guy.

i wouldn't worry about it, think how nice your teeth will look when the braces come off. if a guy cant see past your braces and get to know you well then you don't want that kind of guy anyways!

a number of them do yet they are dickheads! I reckon braces are completely cool! i be responsive to that would desire to sound extraordinary yet i think of glasses and braces are cool! If adult men think of that ladies are gruesome for donning braces, boys are stupid for not understanding that ladies with braces are merely as enormously and stunning as females without them!

i'd love to know the answer to this one. i just got braces on because i have to have a canine pulled into place, im 19 next month and i've been getting different looks then i used to. GUYS!! y do you have to judge because of metal that we can't control?
