Everyone has a conscience. Yet not all relate to it of value and over time some let 'dust form on top of it'.
A conscience is the in tuneness of one's soul. It came from the One, God. As a person ' awakens ' their soul more, the conscience does in fact 'evolve' and awaken more.
We are all made of energy . . . Humans, animals, plants, water, etc . . . All are simply vibrating at a different energy level. All have a conscience and are to be valued and respected. . . Humans, plants, animals, the earth . . .

Our conscience did not evolve, We got a conscience because of Adam and Eve who ate the forbidden fruit, which gave them the ability to distinguish right from wrong. Eve thought it would make her like God, and while it made her like him in the essence that they knew right from wrong, the flesh (merely a reflection of God) couldnt handle it, and cannot fully resist sin, unless you have Jesus Christ in you,who came to earth in form of man and died upon a cross, taking all the sins of the world and paying the price so you wouldnt have to, and even than you'll fall into sin, but youll be able to ask for forgiveness because of his love and mercy for you, and everything that goes against Gods commandments will be thrown into the see of forgetfulness

Improve your grammer, do you mean conscience or consciousness? To answer, both evolved to deal with complex social orders. Trees don't have either because they don't live in social groups. Humans do.

Do you mean a conscience? All creatures may have one. My dog knows when she does something wrong. She has that "look" on her face.
